WASHINGTON—The World Bank on Monday pledged as much as $200 million in emergency funding to help three West African nations fight the deadly Ebola epidemic following requests from the World Health Organization and officials from the three countries.

The bank said the financing would help pay for medical supplies, salaries and other materials urgently needed to stabilize the health systems in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, where the death toll has reached nearly 900
I am very worried that many more lives are at risk unless we can stop this Ebola epidemic in its tracks," World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said in a statement.

"The international community needs to act fast to contain and stop this Ebola outbreak," said Dr. Kim, a global public-health expert.

WHO Director-General Margaret Chan said last week that the outbreak, the worst on record, was moving faster than efforts to control it. Authorities in Africa's most populous nation, Nigeria, have confirmed a second case and have quarantined eight individuals who helped treat a Liberian-American who died of the disease in July.
Dr. Chan said funding is vital to help authorities slow transmission and prevent spread of the disease to other areas.

"The demands created by this unprecedented outbreak outstrip the capacity of affected countries in West Africa to respond," she said.

Not like top glove, drop from 6.00 to 4.50 although dividend is good.

Actuall.. MINIMAL IMPACT?

CIMB Research said it believed that Ebola’s reappearance in African countries would have minimal impact on the demand for rubber gloves at this juncture as it spread only through bodily fluids and was still confined mainly to the African countries.

“Unlike SARS and H1N1 which are transmitted through droplets in the air, Ebola spreads only through bodily secretions.

“Hence, it will not spread as easily and demand growth will not be as strong as in 2009 to 2010 when demand growth for gloves was aided by a low base during the economic downturn in 2008,” CIMB Research added.

The research house believes that a material impact on demand would be seen following the depletion of inventories and a significant rise in the number of cases of Ebola across the globe.

While some glove companies have seen an increase in demand from the affected African countries, sales contribution from these countries was negligible, leading to minimal earnings impact, CIMB Research added.

WHO to Hold Emergency Meeting on Ebola Outbreak
MOSCOW, August 6 (RIA Novosti) – As the death toll in the outbreak of the lethal Ebola virus continues to rise, the World Health Organization said it will hold a two-day meeting of its emergency committee Wednesday to assess whether we are dealing with a global emergency, according to WHO head Margaret Chan.

“On 6-7 August, the World Health Organization (WHO) will convene an IHR Emergency Committee meeting in order to ascertain whether the ongoing Ebola outbreak in West Africa,” it said in an announcement.

The meeting’s main goal is to determine whether the outbreak constitutes a “public health emergency of international concern,” and if it does, the WHO will seek to develop a set of temporary measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

Following the consultation, the international health authority will hold a press conference on August 8.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday issued its highest alert for an all-hands on deck response to the Ebola crisis in West Africa.

"Ops Center moved to Level 1 response to given the extension to Nigeria & potential to affect many lives," CDC chief Tom Frieden said on Twitter.

Level 1 is the highest on a 1-6 scale and signals that increased staff and resources will be devoted to the outbreak.

"Basically this activation allows us to pull resources from throughout the agency to respond to this," said CDC spokesman Tom Skinner.

He said it was the first time since 2009 that the Level 1 alert had been issued. Back then it was in response to the outbreak of H1N1 flu

observed they are doing many launching and frequent in the news recently. Something hint me that the share price has reach the bottom and waiting for launching also (house launch + share price launch).

Anyway the major shareholder is controlling 72% of the share. It depends on their mood or mercy. This counter is not for the contra player. Those who have patience will get gold. Those no patience will get besi buruk.
