13/9/2013 KUALA LUMPUR:

Salcon Bhd has proposed to sell all its water treatment concessions for RM518.28 million cash, an amount that exceeds its market capitalisation of RM414.3 million.

After netting off liabilities and minority interest, Salcon would pocket RM284 million cash, or 47.29 sen per share based on a share capital of 600.5 million shares. The stock closed at 69 sen yesterday.

Salcon is considering capital repayment or special dividend to return part of the proceeds to shareholders, but the amount has yet to be decided, said its executive director Eddy Leong.

With the fresh cash in hand, Salcon will team up with Eco World Development Sdn Bhd, which is controlled by Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin of S P Setia Bhd, to develop two tracts in Johor Baru that Eco World bought in January.

Ok interesting news for all : Salcon sold 100% of China assets to BEWG Ltd for RM518m, BEWG today placed out 5% of its own shares to Khazanah for roughly RM590m, in a nutshell, we M'sian suckers are paying for the assets once owned by ourselves (Salcon)

Nolah, to be fair BEWG also has other water assets, if Khazanah is truely our torch bearer, they should just pay Salcon RM518, owns 100% of their water assets and grow the biz in China !!! Now, they own 5% of a large entity for what ??? Khazanah vs Temasek, guess who's smarter ??
