SMTrack: Sees 2015 as turning point for the company . SMTrack is bullish that 2015 will be the turning point for the loss -making company, lifted by its recent ventures in China and the US. SMTrack ventured into traceability businesses in China and the US in May and this month, respectively, and its CEO Yow Lock Sen said this should help it return to the black next year. The company expects to see up to 90% of its revenue from overseas operations by then, which may include another “big” project in Saud i Arabia, to be announced soon. “Next year is going to be the turning point for us. I’m very excited and confident that these new businesses that we are working on right now will boost the profitability of SMTrack,” Yow said. (Business Times)
Mr. Yow I wish you well and I do hope with the new Joint Venture with the US company will bring confidence to your company. In your company case there is only one way, anything lower you will be place under Practise Note 17. Let's see the turn around with this share swap agreement.
This counter in the beginning looks promising and many went in hoping that there can be a turn around. In the course of 9 months we have been reading announcement after announcement of potential business but it has not instilled confidence. This new share swap with the US was suppose to be the boost but it did not. Words to me are cheap, but to wait till the end of the year to see if the Saudia project can take off is the question. I have reduced my gearing on this portfolio but sufficient still to see if the Mr. Yow can turn this company around. If it is going PN 17 then you know this is a dead shit.
SMTrack Bhd has announced a new venture, involving the export of palm oil sludge or palm acid oil to China, which management has expected to account for 50% of the firm’s total revenue after two years.
SMTrack (fundamental: 2.25; valuation: 0.3) chief executive officer Yow Lock Sen said the new venture is in line with his turnaround plan for the loss-making entity, which he expects to return to black in 2015.
Under the new venture with Sino Renewable Energy Corporation, SMTrack will source the palm acid oil, export the materials, while also providing the tracking services for the shipment to China.

In the past, the company announced plans to work with the Customs Dept of Malaysia and those of a few other neighbouring countries on the tracking of goods and their movements.. but nothing came out of them.
