The year 2014 and Astro was a Darling among Fund Managers and Analysts. The share was trading at more than RM3.50 then. It was earning slightly more than today and also paying about 10-12 sen dividend. Today, at just RM1.00 in share price, the earnings and dividend per share is not too far off from 2014 but the share price is. So, do your own maths to see if it's a good buy today. I know I did, cheers.

@Kelvin....so true..I have analysed this same way ..also year 2014 bank FD interest rate was over 3% now 1.5% which should give more value to high dividend companies..
I guess we must wait the foreign funds back to Bursa to understand its full value..anyway, I am fully stocked and will enjoy steady dividends years to come...even if price doubles will probably hold for the lack of alternative investment targets..

Walt Disney picks Astro for Disney Hotstar streaming service

The Walt Disney Company has appointed Astro as an official distributor of the Disney Hotstar streaming service in Malaysia which will be launched on June 1.
Astro group CEO Henry Tan said the company was delighted to be an official distributor of Disney Hotstar in Malaysia and to aggregate more world class content on its platform.
Astro's Movies Pack customers will soon be able to stream world-class entertainment on Disney Hotstar for an additional RM5 per month while non-Movies Pack customers can also enjoy Disney

Gtrade Just for your info, ASStro management, backend is very messy and full of worms. Pls dont touch. The management is very very poor. I keep on getting nuisance call from 0374988660 for more tuan 10 times even though i have closed my ASStro account

Public Investment bank has maintained its OUTPERFORM rating on the stock with a target price of RM 1.16.
This is at the boosted by the future out look of the company.
” Astro is looking to introduce new over-the-top (OTT) streaming service partnerships in the near term, apart from the existing HBO Go, iQiYi and Astro Go, with an aim to cater for the diverse Malaysian market. This may help to mitigate the impact of the change in Disney’s business model.

Astro has always been debt funded. Ananda forcing Astro to declare dividends via debt back to himself. Astro also pays a huge fee to Ananda for satellite

And then there's the TV box trend etc. Having all these said this is why Astro is now $1 not $2 compared to not too long ago. The Disney thing is a big change, new CEO not paid so excessively and working hard to bring Astro back in the game. I think Astro ada chance la especially where we can enter from a low base

Yes... Program wise, I couldn't agree more. Repetative in nature but the numbers don't lie. Profits has been rising consistently.

So far shareholders received 8 cents dividends (7%). Some more a final divided of RM 0.025 has been proposed. Payable on 23 Jul. This would make % dividends to be 9% based on 52 weeks high share price (RM 1.15).

Obviously, more money is being made through TV shopping, Astro+broadband and soon to be launched Astro+Disney+

Donno why with Disney + hotstar launch in Malaysia, Astro still not moving. Disney receptions in Singapore is very high.... Malaysia... stll to see. by then will determine if Astro can ride or not.

I think I must apoligise...on 10th March (when price was 0.90+ ) I wrote here that Astro will be 1.12 RM on 10th April.....Only now we closed beyond that level..
December 10th it will be 1.85 RM...
