Company warrants are issued by the company and give the holders the right, but not an obligation, to subscribe for new ordinary shares at a specified price during a specified period of time.

Structured warrants are proprietary instruments issued by a third-party issuer, namely an eligible broker or financial institution that give holders the right, but not the obligation, to buy (call warrants) or sell (put warrant) the underlying instrument in the future for a fixed price.

A call warrant is in-the-money when the exercise price is lower than the price of the underlying share.

A put warrant is in-the-money when the underlying share price is lower than the exercise price.

Reputed for his acute sense of market timing and stock selection, Pheim Malaysia executive chairman Tan Chong Koay has been referred to as 'Southeast Asia's Small-cap King' and the 'Warren Buffett of Asia'.

This is one person I look up to. The other is Neoh Soon Kean.

Another Thong disaster investment and his management!! HoHup had to sell development as have no cash to build it … even after sale they are over rm500 million in debt and look like they are finished. When things got bad what did Thong do ? Resigned from board and try and distance himself. A terrible businessman… imagine if thong finds another terrible investment and uses all of the insas cash and then need to keep giving more cash to stop that going bust! Insas would be ruined and it is possible he will do it!! Return cash to shareholders

TheContrarian

Insas is so cheap, you are paying 30 sen for a ringgit, hahaha.

TheContrarian

If you walk into Insas corporate office and tell them you want to surrender your Insas share to them, they will pay you RM3.30 for each Insas share. 🙂

Omesti selling microlink shares as it has no cash and desperate. Thong also long time board member , he created mess there too. Microlink no cash , raising cash from insas… all terrible cash draining investments.

Insas would also be in deep cash trouble if not that inari came to insas for funding. Now gives out cash

KLSE CI up 12 points due to foreign funds buying, Insas down 2 sen, why?

BLee

“TheContrarian > Everyone should insaf.”

Insaf (repent)? I am not one of these ‘Everyone’ as my free holding cost less than 60 sen.
Why is Insas price trading at a great discount? Few days ago, I went to a member day sale. Most of the merchandise on sale at up to 80% discount; yet no taker. Are there any similarities? Is it Insas trading price not worth the calculated book value? Or is it the upside risk not worth taking the risk? I hope someone can contribute the answer to some of my questions above.
Meanwhile, my answer could be:
‘- the possibility of dilution risk if Insas-WC, paying 90 sen will get converted to one new insas share of NTA 3.57 and EPS 14.72. What happens when 331.423mil Insas-WC gets converted?
‘- how much earning is required to pay interest on 132.604mil Insas-PB half yearly?
‘- how much Inari shares to be disposed-off to prop up the EPS?
‘- the ROE of 4.12 is with Inari disposal, what will be the figure if excluding.

I am holding Insas for years because Insas gives better returns compared with FD rates and my other passive income. If the return does not meet my anticipated passive income rates; I will search for some other stocks which can... i.e. the higher Insas price, the expected return should be more. Is that the case? Therefore, Insas price can only go higher if the return gets a higher percentage return, not at the same return rate yearly..Happy Trading and TradeAtYourOwnRisk.

TTB of icap is very bullish on Malaysia and China market. Hope he is right

TheContrarian

TTB and every "expert" were bullish way back in January. Foreign funds withdrew in March and April and only started to return again. Market this year will be better than last year for sure. There's a spike in new opening of trade accounts by retailers since January. This means old veterans like us can make some good money. But it will not be a super bull, there's never going to be one here again.

US stock market is on the high side, funds there are moving away and coming to Asia which is relatively cheap. Malaysia stock market will benefit.

Ho Hup is one of the associate company of Insas. Even Hop Hup close shop it did not matter much to Insas. Afterall Insas is so deeply undervalued.

Sslee

OCBC, Microlink not an associate company of Insas. Insas hold some OCBC shares as fair value financial assets.

OCBC in the news, they are offering to privatize Great Eastern.

SSlee, JTiasa has a very low PE at present. With Free Cash Flow and almost Debt Free, why is the price going down ? Can it be due to INvestment Bank suppressing call warrants.? You are saying Yinson is good, but with high debts. Even TSH will be Debt Free soon, but price like JTiasa on the way down. Can I have your view on VSTecs and HDD supplier JCY, Dufu, Notion ? Thank You.

Sslee

No idea how is HDD demand and supply situation.

CPO price drop from RM 4,500 to now RM 3,800 dragging down Jayatiasa price.

Sslee

Is YTLpower bad or good with high debts?

Watch out Yinson in year 2025 (addition 2 FPSO in operation) and 2026 (addition 1 more FPSO) in operation

Insas' associate, subsidiary and wholly owned companies can be found in Annual report.

Financial assets at fair value only total value (mark to market) is reported in every quarterly report.

In annual report only general information on what Insas invested in are reported as below:

As of 30 June 2023, the Group’s investments in listed equities are primarily in REITS, technology and e-commerce, logistics, consumer products and financial services sectors in both local and overseas stock exchanges

ICap Biz repeatedly state that they are best measured according to NTA. management & Investment fees at 1.5% pa on Assets Managed. Regardless of their performance, Mr Tan TB gets a cut.

Insas i termed as Berkshire Malaysia -bc it also is a holding company. A mistake to measure on only on EPS

nsas & Insas WC which have holdings of

Net cash at RM1.08 per share.
Investment at BOOK VALUE for Inari at Rm550mil even though at market it is valued at RM1,600 million. Yes RM1.6 BILLION

OTher investments include
F&B
Fashion
Securites listing services for ACE
IT.

Just the BOOK VALUE it is at RM3.56 as per Dec 2023.

Now it is trading at RM1.03.

Accountants DON'T value investment at current market share price. Yet the investments under Insas is at RM6.38

At Book value, you are buying a RM1 for 30sen

At Market value , you are buying a RM1 for 12sen

Talking about margin of safety, this is one rare DIAMOND

On Cap Biz with management fee 1.5% , after 10 years, the compounding costs turns out to be >30% of the net profits.

On Insas with management fee 0% , after 10 years, the compounding costs turns out to be 0% impact on the net profits.
