Reason	As at 31 January 2017, Aberdeen Asset Management PLC ("Aberdeen") and its subsidiaries hold 24,143,550 shares of United Malacca Berhad ("UMB"). Pursuant to Section 6A(4)(c) of the Companies Act 1965, MUFG was deemed interested in the shares by virtue of MUFG's wholly owned subsidiary, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corp, holding more than 15% in Aberdeen. By virtue of the coming into force of the Companies Act 2016 on 31 January 2017, pursuant to Section 8(4)(c) of the Companies Act 2016, MUFG is no longer deemed interested in the shares of UMB in which Aberdeen has an interest as Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corp does not hold 20% or more in Aberdeen. As a result, MUFG ceases to be deemed a substantial shareholder of UMB.
