NCT Group of Companies (NCT Group) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MBSB Bank Bhd to develop sustainable financing options for the end-buyers of the upcoming NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) project. In a joint statement, the companies said the collaboration would explore providing services such as capital expenditure, working capital, trade solutions, as well as end-financing. Computer Forms (Malaysia) Bhd (CFM) and Thailand-based company Energy Absolute Public Company Ltd is collaborating to form a joint-venture (JV) company to promote, produce and distribute renewable energy (RE) products in Malaysia. CFM group managing director Datuk Justim Lim Hwa Tat said the collaboration is underpinned by Energy Absolute’s core capabilities and know-how. Borneo Oil Bhd (BornOil) recently commenced the operation of Sabah's only integrated clinker and cement manufacturing plant (ILPP), which is situated in Lahad Datu. BornOil recently acquired a 30 per cent stake in Makin Teguh Sdn Bhd (MTSB), which owns the ILPP and is involved in the manufacture and trade of clinker, cement, and related products. Sime Darby Property Bhd (SDP) has achieved 100% take-up for its Twin Factories 3 and Detached Factories 1 in Elmina Business Park during their launch. With a combined gross development value (GDV) of RM213mil, the factories are located within the 1,500-acre Elmina Business Park in Sungai Buloh, SDP said in a statement. Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has won five awards and topped two polls for 2022 at the Asiamoney Awards 2022. The bank displayed its strength across the group’s franchise namely its consumer and whole businesses in Malaysia and international footprint by securing the recognition of Best International Bank in Cambodia. ​​​​​​​CIMB Bank Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd have continued its commitment to support and spur the recovery of the small and medium enterprise (SME) businesses through RM30bil in financing by 2024. The bank, in a statement, said it would collaborate with Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad (SJPP) and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CGC). Pertama Digital Bhd's China-based foreign directors have resigned from the board, following the sale of its textile business in China last month. In a statement on Monday (Sept 26), Pertama Digital said group managing director Pan Ding and executive director Pan Dong had resigned, effective Sept 22. TAS Offshore Bhd (TOB) is confident of securing more tugboat contracts from Indonesia, as the country's coal mining sector is likely to increase demand for more tugboats, which are crucial in coal transportation. Chairman Datu Mohammed Sepuan Anu said the rising natural gas prices had intensified gas-to-coal switching in many countries. India's economic expansion is supporting the world's coal consumption this year. (NST)

PGF Capital Bhd has urged the government to encourage more investment in Malaysia in the upcoming Budget 2023 to enhance the performance of domestic businesses. Executive chairman Fong Wern Sheng said the earlier introduced Domestic Investment Strategic Fund's (DISF) objective was to harness and leverage outsourcing opportunities created by multinational corporations operating in Malaysia, intensify technology acquisition of domestic companies, and enable them to obtain international standards and certifications in strategic industries. LBS Bina Group Bhd has proposed to the government to revive and permanently implement the Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) or first-time home ownership subsidies in the upcoming Budget 2023 following a difficult two years of lockdown and business interruptions. The property developer said the initiative, introduced in 2019, was well-received and spurred home ownership while reducing the number of unsold properties within the country. Genting Malaysia Bhd said up to three additional rides at its Genting SkyWorlds theme park are expected to be commissioned within the fourth quarter of 2022 (4Q22), as the casino and hotel operator plans investments in targeted events and promotions to drive leisure traffic to its hilltop resort in Pahang. Maxis Bhd has kickstarted the third instalment of Maxis Awards, and is currently accepting proposal submissions until Oct 11, 2022. For this round, Maxis has teamed up with SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards (SEBA), an annual platform that recognises and identifies SMEs, conglomerates, and entrepreneurs who have positively contributed to Malaysia's economy. It is still a "buy" recommendation for Yinson Holdings Bhd amid its solid and growing pipeline of both floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) projects as well as renewables. Apart from strong earnings growth from three new upcoming projects — FPSO Anna Nery, FPSO Atlanta, and FPSO Maria Quitéria — Yinson is comfortable enough to take on one more big project without any equity cash call, according to RHB Research. Analysts are positive on Sime Darby Bhd's stock on potential special dividends from disposal of its non-core assets, among others. This follows the latest sale of 1,282 acres of its Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) land in Labu, Negeri Sembilan to NS Corp, a state statutory body, for RM445 million or RM8 per sq ft (psf). The latest transaction comes shortly after Sime Darby announced the sale of 1,382 acres of its MVV land last month, also to NS Corp, for RM460 million or RM7.64 psf.
