undervalued shares is very subjective. the company may be assets rich but please bear in mind is the (major) shareholders pro active or passive in managing the company.
that particular undervalued counter may continue to be under value for a long-long time IF the shareholder does not sell out or maintain the current status quo. this is my personal opinion

as long the stand off is NOT prolong. the impact will be minimal. Felda Refinery and their Oil Mill ( FElda sahabat) is close to the village. Others like KLK, LDEO, Kwantas operating around Lahad Datu area will also be affected.(e.g. intake slow down etc )

comments noted. whichever way we look at the market. election risk? is a on going concern among many investors. until the GE is resolved. our market will continue to under perform. units trust ( open end funds ) is vulnerable to unit holders withdrawal.

i might not be 100% right but to give a run down on Bstead. a GLIC (controlled by LTAT). well diversified group. core holdings Pharma, Affin,Plantations, REITs, BHIC ( Ship building), Property development, Hotels, BH Petrol and manufacturing.
Pretty good dividend counter but the only fault lies with the strong linkage with ruing party. nothing wrong as Pharma and BHIC is dependent on Government projects.
at 4.70 - 5.00 reasonable discounted price consider total sum of parts
valuations at 7.00-8.00. the only concern is election risk but for long term investor . this is secondary.
this is my personal opinion and not any invitations to buy or sell. good luckl

revaluation exercise within a time frame of 6 months is tough. MPHB hold a spectrum of landed and non landed properties. Valuers need time to update their valuations ( ie. based on last transacted price ) less whatever costs plus mark to market valuations.

2.62 Million tons inventories is a drag of most plantation counters. alternatively look at "incken" counter. rumours of Owners (Ng ah Chai) buying back the cash rich company.
incken hold 230 Million cash after selling 2 parcels of land to UEM. holding 360 acres in Kajang. holding costs extremely low. last valuations done 12-13 years ago.

our education standards has been sliding backwards since 70's and 80's
.
the fall gradually accentuated with the phasing out of the missionary schools and the medium of instructions in the school system
the problem was further compounded with the retiring of senior (dedicated) school teachers. the new intake of teachers was flawed. what we lost (good teachers) benefit our immediate neighbours.

hot money will push the market (index) higher prior to announcement of GE 13 election dates. tendency for the market to move sideways (or lower) after the announcement. after that keep our fingers cross. ride the wave when the going is good.

the biggest anxiety facing investors is timing of the GE13. looking at the news reports. BN most likely will call for elections upon expiry of their (5 yrs) full term. After March school holidays(23-31) only other alternative is between April 29(Good Friday ) - May 01(Labour Day) holiday break

politics, race, education, religion is something close to our heart. how we achieved it on a more equitable basis is something we have long talk, discuss, argued and disagreed many many times.
going forward, this country politicians need to sit up and think with their heads. being moderate and open in the best way forward. we cannot close our eyes and minds to the ever changing world. never be a ostrich ( HEAD IN THE HOLE)

whether a good call or a bad call is very subjective. even fund managers defers in their calls. likewise do not pick (choose) your stocks on hearsay. do your own homework and stock analysis.
trading is not easy you need to open up your eyes (ears) to the ever changing market conditions. nothing is static. but the most important factor is your own timing and your very own risk tolerance
try to ( i repeat)cut your losses but let your profit runs. it's not easy but at least be aware.

there is something we can control and there are other things beyond our control. the political divide is something which we need to live with it. times have changed ( for good or bad ) depending which side you are on.
whether BN or PR wins. the people in power needs to ensure the people needs are taken care. the waiting game for GE13 is killing the market.
nobody can predict the future. but coming 2013 will be a tough year for everybody. wish everybody good luck and trade (vote) carefully.

You recognised a person contribution NOT from the money you make from him. A great men (lady) is one who cares to give back to society (or the less fortunate)without any publicity or recognition.
You dont need to know his name but you recognised his(her) deeds. this is what we call humility. there are plenty of rich people but not many are willing to give back to society.
it's take a special character to walk away from power and lives a simple life.
