Interesting. For those who are new&inexperienced holding other counters with high Koon holding, please beware with his 'buy' calls. For experienced investors, I'm sure you have your own system & strategy to handle it.

I'm interested to see Koon's next post. I wonder who will he call stupid next. Haha

MoneySIFU is right. That its exactly my thoughts. I also don't like disabling comment section and the delay notice to SC. Personally I also don't like him doing the contrast of what he said and recommend.

We experienced enough to know his MO and know how to do our homework therefore able to avoid his buy/sell recommendations. But what about the newbies?

Haha. This is the first time Koon gets enough coverage. Previously when I criticized his blogs/recommendations Jtiasa, Rsawit etc, I got bashed.

It is nice to know that many people can see the light now. I have never followed Koon's recommendations because I did my homework on him and his system. But I do read many newbies did lose money. Well, note to newbies that don't follow blindly.

What I don't understand is why a man at his 80+ still want to make money up to an entent of tarnishing the standard morality? It's this a legacy he wants his lineage to inherit?

@soojinhou bro, thanks for making the complaint to Bursa. Could you please also post the reply to us later for our knowledge?

I have made my homework on Koon way before and thus I have never followed his recommendations. I'm really glad of that but I still hate his actions and his MO to make money out of other new and naive people.

Wow. So many comments already in this thread. Haha. But still there are many (not as many as before thankfully) ignorant/naive investors in i3 who still did not see Koon's ploys. These are the people who will make money to Koon.

The greater fools theory is always going to work to Koon's favour with these people always in the system. Haha

Right now I'm trying to learn to read charts better but can't find enough motivation to do it. Haha

@Icon8888, I'm not surprised he is willing to go so low. You also read a lot of his articles like me. The earlier (I mean one of the earliest) articles are okay-ish. But the more recent you go, the worst it gets.

@younginvestor92, hpcp is right. The readers must do their own homework before investing their hard earned money. If they don't, that is their fault. However, that does not take away Koon's action of manipulating new/naive readers.

Bro Icon8888, you can see from my previous posts that I have also give some benefit of doubt to Koon. I even addressed him as Mr Koon previously when I criticize his articles. And in some articles I gave good reviews about his writings even though I don't agree to what he is saying and don't agree with his recommendation.

But, he did nothing to bring credibility back to himself. His MO is more blatant every time and I pity a lot of the newbies get trapped with his plays. I don't care anymore. We need to voice out so that people are aware of this.

Is Koon giving 'donation' to i3 or something? Because I understand that a website need some funds to function. If Koon is a donor or owns i3 now, then i3 can't do anything about it.

Haha. Rosetan, there is no hero in investment. We are accountable to our own actions. But to sway new/naive investors to make money from them is wrong.

I have nothing personally against Koon as I have never followed his recommendation but I just hate people who manipulate others blatantly but those followers somehow not managed to see them.

@rosetan

We already know who is right. We have loads of sample ie Rsawit, Jtiasa, Mudajaya, Genetec. For a lot of us there is no problem because we already aware of this. Now we want those newbies to know as well so that they will do their own homework and not just follow blindly.

Koon is a businessman and a master of the 'greater fool theory'. I have never lost money following people before because I believe in myself. But I do know a few people who did and they were devastated. We don't want the newbies to experience that.

Time to sell is it Koon? Newbies! Now is your time to do your mistakes! Buy buy buy and follow your Lord Ramsay Koon without doing your homework. Koon needs you in his system. Please~

Seriously though, please do not buy if you are newbies. There are other counters out there that is less prone to manipulation. Don't mistaken me as I'm not saying this counter is bad. But do your research and invest your hard earned money with confidence. Some people can play the game of speculation but maybe not you and certainly not me. Haha

Haha. His MO is working and it is still working for so many years without him ever needed to amend it. This is particularly due to his new followers that just follow blindly without doing their homework on him.

His philanthropic acts is good because it is his money (that he brilliantly made with his proven MO) and he can do whatever he wants with them. But showcasing those acts to the world... not that good.

Koon is a master of the 'greater fool theory'. I wonder if his followers even know about that theory and who is the fool in the system in this context?

Hi Victimnewbie, that is exactly what has happened. And since you are learning about this the hard way, let me also tell you that this MO is usual not only from Koon but also from the research houses. Take those advices with a truckload of salt and think about it.

Koon is brilliant because his system works for him and himself alone. He makes loads of money from you. You are apart of his system because you allow yourself to be. Again this is harsh but I hope you learn from this.

Koon is a businessman. Everything he does is a path for money making. Remember that always.

Hi Victim, I understand that you don't want to commend using your own main account as you are afraid of getting some backlashes from the community. However, you don't have to be afraid as we are all here to learn regardless you're a newbie or not.

In regards to this, I have to say - Yes! Yes you are a dumping bin to him. I know this sounds harsh and I hope you don't lose too much from this counter. This is the reason that you should do your own homework before putting your hard earned money in any counter.

@Torun is right. Those are indeed great questions raised by Icon.

I'm just sad that those new people got trapped. I understand that those newbies do not have enough knowledge or time to do enough homework. And they just tend to follow blindly people based on their fame. The newbies need to be warned until they got enough footing to stabilize their investing journey.

However with people unable to comment on articles, it is too bad to the newbies.

My comment:

New i3 people, note that the statement "I am obliged to tell you that I have sold a large amount of my VS shares and now I am buying back." indicates that you should not follow people blindly.

Note that I don't have any VS shares from the beginning (haha I know this will happen of course. It has happened in other counters as well).

Please do necessary homework first. You can lose your money by blindly following people. Take their advices with a truck of salt. People have agenda and sometimes you're in it.

If you lose money from it, I don't blame him but I blame the followers. They blindly follows people. At least read up on the previous counters of that person. Maybe you would stumble across Jtiasa story etc. Haha

If Koon makes money from this, he is brilliant. The ones losing money when he liquidated all are just losers from his system. That is all.

I think traders will definitely outperform buy and hold since there is no way for us to check on the legitimacy of the trades. I mean there could be someone who can just alter the dates of the trades so that it will be really profitable.

With that being said, I trust most of the users in i3Klse and I think they are mostly have great integrity in them. :)

I think it is difficult to assess the good and bad portfolio for self-managed ones. This is because there are some people who actively buy and sell their holdings and some did not.

Clarification: I know that you can buy and sell in self-managed portfolios and not in normal stock pick contest. Nothing wrong with that. It is just that I want to highlight those in the bottom self-managed category might not be bad since they just hold their stocks to see how it ends up at the end of the year.

Lets us all learn from each other. :D

When he said he wants to sell it means he has already sold most of his holdings. At that point he just wanted other people to sell down so that he can pick up cheaper later.

He is indeed a good investor. No doubt about that. He has world class advisors too. With the help of his good method of picking stocks well before everyone else with the help of the said advisors, he will collect enough fist then he will publicise so that new inexperience investors can hop the bandwagon and make him more money plus building a moat for him at the same time. That is smart and I can salute that even though I don't like it. He is a good investor. Those who follows blindly are bad ones. Those who follows with their own research and strategy are good investors too.

gorengkaki above is right. You must do your own research. Don't follow blindly. That is the reason you are buying at high people.

Especially new investors, why do you need to follow blindly? If your idol said stock A is good at MYR 1, you need to do some research first if the stock can go up further and what is the downside risk. It could be that your idol buying price is MYR 0.5 and looking to sell at MYR 1.2 (hehehe).

In this case, not to say something bad about Uncle Koon (he has his own good and bad) but I will think of starting to buy (some of the good stocks I have done my research) because every time he said he is buying he has already accumulate enough to sell later. This time around I think he wants the price to fall so that he can collect more. Think people think. haha

Hi Mr Koon, I'm sorry but I have to agree with Icon8888 on this one. I agree that your EGO is the root of your problem. I can't understand why you have that kind of ego but maybe it is like that for most successful people.

The only thing I don't like other than that is your boasting. My god you really boast. A lot. But your supporters still not judging you using their critical thinking. You know that I'm always being critical about your blogs. When they are good (like your entries regarding Malaysia politics), I will tell you they are good and vice versa.

However, I appreciate you are admitting your mistakes in this entry. It is not easy I know. You are a good investor. But you need to do this things often if you want people to call you Super Investor (like you deemed to be) other than your supporters.

I wish you a happy and prosperous Chines New Year too Mr Koon.
