Good idea..

Yesterday Mabel BIMB at all time low RM 1.84. Today BIMB is already RM 1.86

Now Mabel starts buying back CIMB today at RM 4.88

Last year BIMB is the Biggest Dividend Contributor follow by Maybank and PCHEM..

Looking forward for Fantastic Dividend from CIMB too..

First quarter 2023 earnings: EPS in line with expectations, revenues disappoint
First quarter 2023 results:
EPS: RM0.15 (up from RM0.14 in 1Q 2022).
Revenue: RM4.69b (up 3.8% from 1Q 2022).
Net income: RM1.64b (up 15% from 1Q 2022).
Profit margin: 35% (up from 32% in 1Q 2022). The increase in margin was primarily driven by higher revenue.
Revenue missed analyst estimates by 3.6%. Earnings per share (EPS) were mostly in line with analyst estimates.

Revenue is forecast to grow 5.5% p.a. on average during the next 3 years, compared to a 5.8% growth forecast for the Banks industry in Malaysia.

Over the last 3 years on average, earnings per share has increased by 24% per year but the company’s share price has only increased by 7% per year, which means it is significantly lagging earnings growth.

DJI boosted over 2.1% last Fri as the debt ceiling deal was passed and investors cheering for strong May 339,000 jobs report..

Previous data gave wrong impression. The Growth of Recruitment outpace No of Layoff in US..

Unfortunately Bursa is closed today. Singapore STI is now up by 48 points with Mabel Singapore Airlines, Top 3 South East Asia Banks and Plantation pushing the Index to the next level...

growth in CIMB is still fantastic due to easy to open bank accounts.

in fact, if you go other banks, they make life so difficult, its like HELL

@speakup, that time when I bought, the sentiment was very weak and institutional selling was heavy, so, I was waiting to see if it goes lower to slowly accummulate.
...but now that market sentiment has improve a little, i will buy irrespective of price at current level, after it has stabilized for a while.....anything below 5.30 is still considered cheap for investment....and not for trading...haha...just my 2 sen :)

This was my No.1 buy in 2020....sold 80% in late 2021 at around 5 and switched to Maybank at about 8
....will now try to buy back the 80%....not swiching from Maybank....will use fund from my fixed income investment....the yield now from this octopus should be higher than my fixed income
