When investing in bank counters like Maybank, RHB Bank , Public Bank etc, one should take a long term view. I won't sell my RHB Bank shares now irrespective of whatever happens to banks in Europe and the US. RHB Bank has solid earnings since 2010, with highest eps achieved in 2014 at 79.7 sen and the lowest the following year at 24.2 sen. The average eps over the past 13 years was 58.4 sen.

Maybank dan Public Bank sudah pun buat bayaran dividend, CIMB pun akan bayar dua minggu lagi. Hanya RHB Bank, pelabur masih belum tahu bila akan dapat bayaran 25 sen sesaham.

Last year, they made the announcement on the 28 April. Should be about the same time this year. Then you will know the ex and payment dates of the 25 sen dividend and the closing date for the subscription of DRP shares.

@myloh123, worried that RHB Bank might fail like SVB and Credit Suisse? Don't scare yourself. EPF is selling but other institutions are buying, that's why RHB didn't drop much.

You won't be able to find more than 5 counters listed on Bursa Malaysia which are trading at PEs of less than 9 and dividend yields of 7.5%.

Don't have to worry too much about what EPF does. It buys and sells its portfolio throughout the year, often for no apparent reason. Worry about RHB Bank's earnings and the quantum of dividends it pays.

Relax..Epf does short term trading to beef up it's profits to pay dividends to epf holders. Even 3 to 4 c, it may take profits...

BigCannonTan, Maybank has been rewarding its shareholders consistently with bumper dividends of around 55 sen a year for over ten years. Tell me one plantation company that can come near to Maybank's feat. Check RHB Bank's earnings for the past 13 years and then come back to me and tell me which plantation company has such kind of earnings.

RHB Bank investors will be receiving their final dividend one month earlier this year. With the subscription price for DRP shares now fixed, I expect RHB Bank to perform better in the coming days.

Wow! 95,000 shares? Haha, that would be worth over RM500,000. I don't have so much la. I am only entitled to subscribe for a few hundred shares. Assuming RHB Bank drops to RM5.40 after ex, there is still some money to be made.

The last day to subscribe the DRP shares is 5pm, 3 May. The DRP shares are not open for subscription yet. I suppose it would be open for subscription only after the ex dividend date on the 14 April.

Better to take the 25 sen dividend unless it goes up to above RM6. Even without the 15 sen interim dividend, RHB Bank's dividend yield is already about 4.4%, better than more than 75% of other counters listed on Bursa.

Maybank closed at RM8.69 on the final day of trading before it went ex dividend on 13 March. It has climbed back to RM8.70 now. RHB Bank's performance after adjustment for dividend should be quite similar to Maybank.

My main purpose of investing in RHB Bank and Maybank is to benefit from their generous dividend payouts. Capital gain is not my primary aim as my investments in these two counters are long term. Would only consider selling if the capital gains outstrip the dividends.

we know ‘majority’ would chase generous dividend stock near to xd only..after xd there could be opportunity to average down for next round of div. sometimes will make use ‘majority’ trend to bring down my avg price lower possible.

eg Maybank after xd dpt sapu sikit at 8.26 (SVB drama also contributed partially anyway)

Managed to buy some at around RM5,50 a share a few weeks ago. Won't bother to sell unless it goes to at least RM6. Not easy for it to gain 10% unlike some cheap counters. EcoWorld was trading at RM0.65 a share 4 weeks ago but is now trading at RM0.78, a gain of almost 20%.

Just wonder what RHB Bank's opening price would be tomorrow morning. Not likely to drop by more than 25 sen from today's closing price. Hopefully investors with the patience and confidence in RHB Bank would be rewarded!

Bought more earlier, buy insurance, sell a portion at closing, less dividend going to receive , hopefully next year will get more than 8% dividend if $400 dividend still maintain
