These few days, KWAP had been selling 1m, 1m, 1m shares on so many days...but had been buying other bank on some of those days.

Earnings and dividends last year were quite impressive. Judging from its performance in the first quarter, it looks like it could be another good year again. Wait for the Gaza war to end first.

Posted by Value Investor Coo1eo > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

Amway was special divvy bring up the yield. Else it’s lower than RHB la. The performance also lumpy year to year.

Just a year ago, RHB Bank was slightly higher than CIMB Bank. Today it is RM1.50 lower and the gap appears to be widening.

Today's closing....1.56 d :p

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

CIMB Bank's eps is only about 3% higher but its share price is almost 30% higher. RHB Bank's largest shareholder is taking a "tidak apa" attitude.

If it still doesn't buck up, next year this time, its share price could be exceeded by Ambank.

"Foreign investors are taking baby steps and putting money in," he said, although the foreign ownership level remains at only 19%, not yet peaking at the 35% to 40% levels.

Rajiv said JPMorgan’s upgrade reflects a combination of economic growth, effective policy implementation and improving governance, making Malaysia a more promising investment destination.

Don't think it's asleep anymore...

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

Still too early to jump to the conclusion that it has waken up. It has to move up for few consecutive days before we can draw such kind of conclusion.

coming can push up 6.3 above

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

You won't find another counter which trades at a PE of less than 9 and a dividend yield of over 7%. Because it has been asleep for over a year while CIMB surges past RM7, even if it has woken up and started to walk, it would stagger along. It is a long hard journey ahead.

RM7 sooner than you think :)

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

I am more eager to see RHB Bank climb to RM7 soon than most people. My investments in RHB Bank is triple my investments in Maybank.

Really hard to find this type of value on bursa.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

Too bad, small investors prefer to gamble and eventually lose money in speculative counters like Notion, JCY, SNS, DNEX etc rather than put their in a sound counter like RHB Bank.

"Easy Fast money

@speakup, those speculators who had bought Supermax at over RM10 or Top Glove at over RM9 in August 2020 would tell you a different story.

Rhbbank c53 trading at such a low premium

If RHB goes rm7,

( 7-5.6 )/3 = 0.46

10x from here (1000%+)

Interesting.

All the best

RHB Bank closed at RM5.72 a day before it traded ex-dividend. Almost three months have elapsed and RHB Bank is still struggling at around RM5.65. In fact it has been sleeping for over two and a half months after ex-dividend. Most of the gains have been achieved during the past three trading sessions.

about 13 years ago today on july 2011,

RHB was trading at RM9 levels.

Current earnings is at all time highs,
but share price have not adjusted for inflation.

value.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

It has dropped too far behind CIMB Bank and is now playing some catch up. I am contented if it could narrow CIMB Bank's lead to RM1.

cimb marketcap is rm76 billion vs rhb rm 24billion
massive catch up work to go

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

To catch up with CIMB Bank's marketcap is almost impossible but RHB Bank's share price needs to move above RM6 a share.

Nice strong move up the past 3 days, hitting resistance on the downtrend line indicated.
Will we see a breakout soon or within the next few months?
Either way, the counter paid 40 sen DPS. At 5.50, that's 7% per annum dividend yield and very attractive.
40 sen is still very affordable relative to higher EPS.
I am already fully positioned prior to the past 3 days strong move up from 5.53 to 5.70.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 month ago | Report Abuse

While Maybank and CIMB Bank confidently march forward, RHB Bank has encountered resistance at the RM5.70 level. As I have written earlier, it would stumble along.

Today, this one and PBB is more steady, and volume traded is also very thin....while CIMB is heavily traded and being "yo-yo" by invisible BIG hands.

@prudentinvestor, 5.70 is expected per my chart in my article. Be patient, give yourself 6-12 months and odds are good a breakout will occur by then or well before then. In the mean time, 7% dividend yield is nice, and to meet my investment objective of 9% per annum, this is almost a certainty if one has a longer time horizon like several years. It's not gambling for me, I am highly diversified.

What's your investment objective? I blogged about this topic here - https://klse.i3investor.com/web/blog/detail/DividendGuy67/2024-07-16-story-h-156904919-What_is_your_Investment_Objective.

Happy reading, and enjoy life. I hate watching price tickers daily.

@greentrade, nothing is certain in life, even thought the odds here are higher than normal. Warrants has very high adverse impact if we are wrong - e.g. it could go to zero. Whereas buying the mother stock, with 7% dividend yield, is very safe if we are wrong. If one's entry price is low, it's hard to lose 7% in price, but after 1 year, after collecting the 7% dividend, you already made money. My entry price is 5.50, after dividend is 5.30 and I know in a years time, it will drop to 4.90 after 40 sen dividend and keeps dropping every year. So, this is very low risk to me, and I can invest sizeable amount to earn a decent lifetime passive income.

@dividendguy67

yeap agreed. warrants can go to 0 and can be high risk.
every individual have different risk tolerance and strategy.

Example, RM10mil with 7% yield is very safe and comfortable. it can be a decent lifetime passive income of RM700k/ year.

Warrants offer an opportunity for low capital investors where 10x -20x returns could be possible, as seen in gamuda, ytl, mahsing, wct, warrants etc.
However, of course, risk of losing 100% is much more.

At the end of the day, it is up to the individual investor to manage his personal portfolio according to his risk tolerance.

just sharing that c53 is trading at a low premium- which is rare in structured warrants with over 100+ days till expiry.

"@prudentinvestor, 5.70 is expected per my chart in my article. Be patient, give yourself 6-12 months and odds are good a breakout will occur by then or well before then."
@DividendGuy67, I have faith in you. Haven't sold any RHB Bank shares for over a year. Nonetheless, seeing Maybank and CIMB Bank surge ahead while this sleepy bank remains stagnant makes me frustrated.
