Pfizer and BioNTech will get emergency use approval from the FDA by the end of November. Moderna will follow closely behind. Inoculations will begin in the US in December. Priority given to the frontliners and high risk groups.

Oxford vaccine will have a few more weeks to complete the final trial too. Data has shown an impressive immunity response among the elderly, with minor or no side effects, both are the benchmarks of an effective vaccine.

There will be a wall of vaccines.

Malaysia in deal with China for Covid-19 vaccine development
PUBLISHED : 18 NOV 2020 AT 19:40
WRITER: REUTERS

https://www.bangkokpost.com/world/2021843/malaysia-in-deal-with-china-for-covid-19-vaccine-development

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia said on Wednesday it has signed an agreement with China to cooperate on the development of a safe and efficacious vaccine, as part of efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

Under the agreement, in force for an initial period of five years, the Southeast Asian nation will be given priority access to Covid-19 vaccines developed by China. Both will share knowledge and expertise and facilitate scientific and technological capabilities to advance vaccine development in their countries, Malaysia said in a joint ministerial statement.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin signed the agreement with his Chinese counterpart Wang Zhigang in a virtual ceremony.

Cooperation between Malaysia and China under the agreement would be supervised by a committee chaired by the foreign affairs ministers of both countries that was formed in October to address post-pandemic challenges.

"Both countries will also support the participation of their public and private sectors including universities, institutions, societies and organisations in joint collaborative projects," the Malaysian ministries said.

Don't be fooled, even though it is net buying.
What you cannot see is buy at what price and sold at what price level.

Will the market crash if budget 2021 cannot be passed this coming Thursday (26/10/2020)? These are the 4 possible scenarios:

1. Parliament will be dissolved and a snap election will be called
2. A state of Emergency in the whole country will be declared by YDPA
3. Muhyiddin will resign and YDPA will appoint an interim PM
4. YDPA will appoint a new PM who has majority MPs support. A new budget 2021 also will be tabled by the new appointed PM.

Will the market go down? Will it crash? Take profit now or wait?

Covid Vaccines Soon
BioNTech (BTNX) and Pfizer (PFE) plan to file for emergency FDA approval on Friday. The Moderna coronavirus vaccine might follow next week.

Both the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna (MRNA) coronavirus vaccines, which use similar mRNA technology, are roughly 95% effective, a high level.

AstraZeneca (AZN) said Thursday that its coronavirus vaccine was safe and triggered an immune system response in a Phase 2 trial. Final-stage trials are underway.

The chief scientific officer for Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) said Thursday that he expects the Dow giant to have enough data for its coronavirus vaccine to seek FDA approval in January or February.

So there's a decent chance that four coronavirus vaccines will be approved by the end of February, facilitating mass vaccinations.

China dumps US Treasuries for fifth consecutive month, sending holdings to lowest level since February 2017

China’s holdings of US government debt have fallen to their lowest level since February 2017, following a fifth successive month of net US Treasury sales in September, according to a US government report.

China sold US$6.22 million of US Treasury securities in September, lowering its total holdings to US$1.062 billion, according to the latest monthly Treasury International Capital (TIC) report from the US Department of the Treasury.

Analysts cautioned that the reduction in China’s US Treasury holdings was not necessarily a sign it was reducing its overall US dollar-denominated securities holdings, since it could buy other assets such as stocks or corporate bonds instead.

According to data from the Japanese Ministry of Finance, China snapped up 27.7 billion yen (US$2.7 billion) worth of Japanese debt in September, resulting in 2.4 trillion yen of purchases over the first nine months in the year, up 73 per cent from the same period in 2019.

China lost its status as the largest foreign holder of US Treasury securities to Japan more than a year ago, in the midst of a bitter trade war between the two superpowers that some speculate could descend into an all-out financial war.

Ongoing discussions among Chinese academics have suggested that Beijing’s ongoing rotation of its US$3.14 trillion foreign exchange reserves could point to further shedding of as much as 20 per cent of its remaining US Treasury holdings.

This counter is worthy for long term.

However, you also cannot deny it is a good counter for short plays.
Just look at the big ups and downs! Easily 30 to 50 cent gap up/down daily.
If you play the multiple Ws along the way, it can be lucrative.
Furthermore, I don't expect a swift and steady recovery.

I'll definitely collect for long terms if I have extra cash, but my longs are with Genting.
Currently PBB is on my play list.
