[tingangap1 Jefflim1234. I bought already at 1.70.. not sell yet. Thinking on topup some more at 1.83. is that ok? Any suggestion. ? I think will still up in before exdate 32cent] First ask yourself whether u r buying as an investment or for speculative purposes. As far as I m concerned if for investment there's still plenty of room for the counter to go UP!! Time when it will make its move WHO KNOWS BUT MY TAKE IS THAT it will b pretty soon. BUT if still too many traders/speculators then the upward move will b delayed. So that's my take. The decision is ENTIRELY YOURS!! Comment is not meant as a recommendation to buy or sell. Use infos as u see fit.
seriously.. no investment house covering this counter..any idea what is the target price base on fundamental..? thanks in advance..imho it's look gonna rally soon. next week maybe
For short term/contra players, please be careful. This counter up fast drop also fast. Lots of steel counters also now slowly drop back. Monitor closely. Alcom obtain approval from court for capital repayment but the entitlement date is around end of September and still pending announcement from Alcom. For medium/ long term players no problem. We just hold. TP1: 2.00 TP2: 2.20. Good Quarter announcement result we shall see another spike up.
Another question to ask, as I'm new in trading... Usually for dividend entitlement, if we only sell off the share right after ex-date or on ex-date itself, before the entitlement date, are we still entitle the dividend?
And if we buy on ex-date itself, do we entitle as well?
Bro ivan09 I foresee good results this quarter which will announce end of this month. And for September is the announcement for capital repayment of 0.32sens. Shares sold after ex date are entitle for dividend. And if we buy on ex date it self we are also entitle for dividend. But do note there would be price correction of 0.32 sens or more after ex date. Will have to monitor how much is Alcom trading after ex date to able to give a better judgement to hold or not to hold until last quarter of the year.
q2 & qr3 revenue result will likely to increase..but cash in hands for q2 will reduce as alcom use the cash balance to pay for dividend back 2 months ago.
but eps for 3rd quarter will see a drop as capital reduction takes place and market cap shrinking.
the effect of capital reduction is to reduce the cost of capital hence a better ROE. But the capital repayment is funded by borrowings which will incur interest expenses hence reducing earnings. Therefore higher Gearing and lower EPS.
K.v.Lim & zoomsbooms Thanks for the info... Now I understand about the ex-date exercise. Hope Alcom could give us more sweets before the year end, and everyone is goin to have a great holiday!
Because overall market sentiment not good. There is the tension between North Korea and US. Locally no fresh catalyst and we yet to see Najib making the 1MDB payment to IPIC. Contra player be careful. Most steel counters going red. Overall market 588 counters red.
Bad market sentiments that subsequently pulled down stocks prices for almost one month ago and many investors are currently loosing money or got trapped and stranded. Nothing to do with alcom as alcom have taken the initiative to reward share holders with 32cents /share capital repayment.
the Capital Repayment will be implemented by way of a reduction of the share capital of Alcom under Section 116 of the Companies Act, 2016 as approved by Alcom's shareholders on 22 June 2017 and confirmed by the High Court of Malaya on 9 August 2017.
Alcom's shareholders whose names appear on Alcom's Record of Depositors as at 5.00 p.m. on 24 August 2017 ("Entitlement Date"), will on 11 September 2017 receive a cash distribution under the Capital Repayment of RM0.32 for each ordinary share held on the Entitlement Date.
The trading of Alcom shares on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad will not be suspended for the purpose of the Capital Repayment. Alcom's shareholders are not required to take any action in respect of the Capital Repayment.
24 August 2017 ("Entitlement Date"), will on 11 September 2017 receive a cash distribution under the Capital Repayment of RM0.32 for each ordinary share held on the Entitlement Date.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
