My take ... Crack spread certainly has a bearing on the fortunes of Petron, given that it has a refiner.

The spread plunged considerably in early July and was in negative territory albeit only for fleeting moments. However that is a one-size-fits-all generic curve.

Specifically for Petron, it appeared worst to have generated a negative gross profit.

As a minority shareholder of Petron Malaysia I just exercise shareholder right to hold The Boaed and Management accountable and resposinle for what happen in the company.

Petron Malaysia management owe minority shareholder a duty to engage with IB Kenanga to clarify Petron Malaysia is not a pure play refinery as stated by Kenanga analyst but refinery + refine petrol products retail and commercial sell + biodisel for their commercial diesel (B7) and their future Capex plan to capture more retail and commercial sell and my questions on Q3 financial result.

I repeat this is not a buy call but me promoting shareholder activism.

The retail price of RON97 petrol dropped 20 sen from RM3.75 to RM3.55 per litre, while the prices of RON95 and diesel will remain unchanged for the week beginning Thursday till Dec 21.

The Ministry of Finance, in a statement on Wednesday, said the ceiling price of RON95 and diesel would remain at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre respectively although the market prices of the two products have increased beyond the current ceiling prices.
