He reminds me of myself, aced all 3 years at with double degree in UK Univ, did chartered Actuary and ICAEW at the same time, work and study.

After few years, turn bad boy and shredded all the qualifications to do what I love.

yeap, I had adequate $$ only. So, advice is good to bring out the best in a person.

busy settling my son into Monash at Melbourne/Clayton,

(wah lanciau eh ! so much thing to fill, register, call up, blood test, health test, pcr test, rapid test, biometric collection, security check - at airport even more forms to fill - jam 1 hour to airport, flight delay - you name it)

Luckily everything go smoothly once reach Melbourne airport - no, I no follow, he went alone.

starting year 2 in Electrical and Computer System Engineering
mastering in AI,
specializing in deep and machine learning.

He will be studying
- Electrical engineering,
- computer science,
- data science,
- programming (C/C++, Mathlab)
- coding (Tensorflow, Keras, etc.)
- advanced and super advanced math.

He aced his first year, last year with 4.0
and managed to secure an internship (youngest)
in deep and machine learning during year end break.

He just came back from rock climbing at Mt. Macedon
and today will jump start his 3rd year course.

(he almost completed his year 2 by himself during year 1 last year and has full filled his 3rd year internship requirement hours last year - meaning during 3rd and 4th year, he will be covering the master degree syllabus, so that after finish undergraduate, he could jump straight into phd)

My advise to him is to do what he loves, and the work will become a Joy.

I learn good important advise 20 years ago
- to give adequate money to children so that they can go study and become whatever they want
- and do not give too much money until they don't want to study or do anything at all.

Dear PearlWhite,
I do not know how much you hold in Serbadk but I can tell you I hold 3.13 million Xingquan and make a total loss of RM748,070.

I did not sold any of my Xingquan because I was naive then and beleive Bursa and SC will do something to protest minority shareholders interest. To my disappointment nothing happen even after several joint meeting with Bursa and SC.

I learnt my painfull lesson and move on.

I am glad you live your own life, chase your own dream and do what you love. All the best to you.

Coming from very poor family, I studied hard. There were times I study until collapse unconsciously on the table for my SPM. One thing good about my parents were they never pressure me on anything. They were happy when I score high, they were nonchalant when I score low. My father need to go borrow money just to buy 4 reference book as my last desperate request from him after I did not do very well in Form 4 by relying only on textbooks loan by school.

The biggest mistake I made was on the eve of submitting my U course, I called up my mother, telling her I was going to go for Engineering, since I was the best student in Physics, Inorganic Chemistry, and 2nd highest in Math. I did not even take biology for my pre-U. She objected and insist on medicine. With only 1 night to think over, unable to get any advise from anybody, I relented and regret for many many years.

I decided to shred my MD at the age of 39, after making millions in share market. MUAHAHAHAHAH .. I have been laughing since then ... MUAHAHAH ! MUAHAHAHAH !

As a parent, I learn my lesson well.
I never pressure my children, but always expose them to useful knowledge.
Stuffing my house with tons of books, variety of books, different level of books, my kids will be attracted to them one way or another.
At Popular, or MPH, we would push trolley of books, buying RM 1,000 plus worth of books in one go. And we shopped 3-4 times a year.

Then, I will bring them travelling, hiking, and exploring places.
From Sarawak to Sabah, KL to Melaka, Up north Taiwan to South hemisphere Australia and NZ. Expose them to different culture, environment, climate and people.

They are also guided to do sports daily just as eating meals or brushing teeth.
My motto is Play what you want, but play u must.
They can choose whatever they want to play. Football, I will buy them football; running, I will buy them shoes; basketball, hiking, swimming, they name it, I will get it for them.

My brother 2 year my junior took the first batch of STPM examination. Result 2A2B applied public university, was rejected for engineering and medical study and only given his last choice Science with eeducation in USM.

He is now a senior master teacher in secondary school in Kedah.

That the fact of life.
