Agreed with Kahhoeng, the one of gain of RM188mil from disposal of BJAUTO was not reflected in the P&L, as BJAUTO is a listed company, the fair value is already reflected in the Balance Sheet oredi. That means, the double entry would be:-

Fixed assest reduced by RM230mil
Current asset (i.e.cash) increase by RM230mil

No change will be reflected in its P&L.

In other word, BJCORP actually did very well this quarter. The operating profit before tax is RM200 million. That mean, all business unit of Berjaya Corp (i.e. lottery, retailing, property, services...etc) is making profit.

Compare to last quarter (ignore the one-off impairment loss of RM227mil), the profit before tax was merely RM124mil only.

It means the operating profit is improved by 61% compare to last quarter.

LOL, The Edge reporter try to cheat public investor. They hope public investor let go their share so that they can buy more!

Treatment for the gain on placement of BJ auto shares was announced in May. The gain was credit directly to the Reserve la. That's why the Reserve increased to 1.233 billion from 1.006 billion preceding quarter.

"The Placement Shares were acquired in 2013 pursuant to the share swap of Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd (“Bermaz”) shares held by BGroup in conjunction with the listing of BAuto. Bermaz has been in operation since 2008. Based on the carrying value of the Placement Shares as at 31 January 2014 of about RM42.0 million, the Placement is expected to realize a profit of RM188.0 million, which will be taken directly to the BCorporation Group reserves (in compliance with current accounting standards) as BAuto remains a subsidiary after the Placement "

reported a drop of 84.5% of profit in current q. Last correspondance q record 54m profit but that include 94m gain from the disposal of hotel asset. By excluding this amount then this q earning of 8m+ consider a slight improvement.

judging by last year announcement, the AGM will be held 30th Oct, Dividends will be announced paid in 7th Oct, ... Maybe more shows/stunts to be revealed in AGM by the management .... i.e. share buyback lah, this one good lah, that one good lah, publicity & coverage by all medias ...
Buy or sell in the following "show time" month, use your brain to think and decide !
I think sth is brewing, it is just the beginning !!

tomorrow it will stay low a little bit until everybody figure it out balance sheet. On Wednesday it will shoot up.. Tomorrow is a good time to buy.. From the calculation it will rise up to first resistance at 1.12. There are 3 division resistances.. I would hold it until 3rd resistance..
