There will be dividend payout in August like in other times ! How much do you think the company may pay out ? Lately 6.5 c , and coming soon another 6.5 c or something extra? Like special one time dividend , rights or warrants to stir up the passion? Or splitting the shares to 50c , to make it tradable , better still is 4 for1 at 25 c a piece , where it has more shares and more tradable. If the new management keep on doing he old ways and neglecting the minority shareholders, my advice is avoid this company ! may be the management may take it private since whatever it has done is nothing concern to the minority shareholders. They can opt to keep all for themselves and this slot should be taken by others more accountable and more caring!
The interim dividend to be announced next month is unlikely to exceed 5 sen per share. If the company just maintains its total dividend payout at 10 to 12 sen a year, not many investors will be interested to buy this counter. Keck Seng has sufficient properties like Menara Keck Seng and Regency tower in Malaysia and hotels in Toronto and Hawaii to launch a REIT.
kseng back to square one after hitting high note at 7.97 but retraced back to where it belonged now due to failure to share the profits earned to all shareholders. I think time to relook at this cash cow again....the upswing now is better chance than downswing...?
I think kseng should offer their lands for sale to all the shareholders interested if they do not have the urgency to manage the co any more . So sad all the land assets put to waste !
From 797 dropped to 650, making a loss of 147 coming closed to 20% is a big deal here! 1.considered asset rich ! lands undervalued and not revalue for decades , bought at +/-RM 5000 per acre but now is at least RM 10 per square foot , Imagine 1 ac is 43,560 sg ft * no of acres????? 2. Cash rich RM 1.0 Billion in fd???? Not invested???? 3. Paid meagre dividends 10-12 c per annum 4. Stock maintained at RM 1.00 and illiquid to trade! 5. same management year in year out ? 6. considered a very conservative co in Bursa! 7. Company without direction? 8. Hope it will be taken by a ready buyer soon to save the minor shareholders sufferings!
Keck Seng's directors/major share holders and their associates together already hold more than 60% of Keck Seng's share capital. If you want to take over Keck Seng, you probably would need to offer them over RM 25 a share before they decide to part with their holdings. It is wise of them to keep Keck Seng at this level so that should they want to privatize the company, they don't have to fork out too much money to pay the small investors. May be Keck Seng's cash reserve is already sufficient.
The management is not stupid. They are all out to frustrate minority shareholders like ourselves, pushing our patience to the limit and forcing us to sell to them at the open market where they have been picking shares on the cheap. We just need to SIT TIGHT. A grossly UNDERVALUED ASSET LIKE K SENG will not go unnoticed by other players. Sooner or later some sort of a catalyst will cause the company to be taken over.
I think those who r here in Iskandar and those outside Iskandar should have noticed its very undervalued assets , if all the minority shareholders were to pick up the stocks now at this dirt cheap price , they will be duly rewarded one day!
the Taman Daya project developed by KS started on 1984, now it is still in progress, 30 years! with this type of characteristic, do not expect rocket speed. So the price also must man man lai. Kakaka!
daiman, spb, kseng are all very conservative in developing their landbanks. if anyone is looking for undervalued gems....these are the counters that you should be looking at...
ykloh, I think it is unfair to label the management as disgracefully incompetent. The management did make a wise decision to dispose of its shares in Parkway Holdings 4 years ago and made a huge profit. Any investor who had bought Keck Seng shares in early 2010 and held till today would have returned a capital gain of over 20% per year compounded over the past 4.5 years. And this doesn't take into account the dividend that had been paid and notwithstanding an almost 20% drop from its peak achieved about 8 months ago. Keck Seng's management isn't incompetent, just too conservative and not proactive enough.
Keck Seng Management has it's own style...."to each his own". It is the final result that matters. If you had bought Keck Seng 10 years ago, today it would have multiplied your investment 10 times. Let us see if it can repeat the same performance if we buy and hold for the next 10 years at a price now I consider fair at say 6.54 (see my earlier posting)...Cheers if we can live to see!
Invest in Keck Seng only if you are prepared to take a long term view. Land in Johor Bahru is getting more and more scarce and expensive and Keck Seng is one of the largest landowners there. Hopefully the latest quarterly results and interim dividend to be announced later this month will give its share price a big boost.
Keck Seng share price is rather quiet lately after falling from the RM6.90++ level. I'm still nibbling bit by bits whenever there is weakness cos it presents opportunities. It may become the "next mini Public Bank" counter as mentioned by one blog named Kassim Thoughts. When we buy and owned such counter, we need plenty of patient and endurance. Cheers to fellow forummers!!!
Got a feeling that something maybe happening soon on Keck Seng. Hope to hear some in depth comments from sifu stockraiders on any latest news on Keck Seng. Holding quite well at current level. Will keep this gem for as long as I could. Cheers!!!
lands not fully utilised will be acquired by government under the prevailing market rate according to its tenure , i.e agric land will be offered agric price and property land under property valuations ; the word undervalued assets never appeared in the Land Code or whatever local laws available . It will be plain hard luck if all lands under Kseng around city areas ' so-called Iskandar " will be forcefully alienated by the government to build low cost houses demanded by rakyat, this cannot be discounted either ...many cases of lands acquired but were compensated poorly was a stark case or cases esp in city areas where available lands are limited. So , if Kseng failed to develop , then the state or local government will do it...just see ....
Some of Keck Seng's plantation land had been acquired by the Government in 2006 to make way for the Senai Desaru highway. The compensation was about RM 260,000/- per acre or RM 6/sq.ft.
Keck Seng Investment (Hong Kong) post quite a commendable result for half year ending. Hope the same will be reflected in Keck Seng (MALAYSIA) coming results. Cheers!!!
Hoping that Malaysian government may introduce laws to ensure that companies that are making monies but chosen to stash cash and not doing anything to the saved capital like what has been done in Korea forcing Samsung to pay a heavier withholding tax for their safe coffers coming to a tune of 600 billions , which is more than Apple at 300 billions...likewise for kseng also holding 1 billion which has been accumulated for more than 20 years but chosen not to distribute to shareholders and not doing anything to the capital year in year out , whereby the penalty of withholding tax should likely be implemented as well.
The management consists of a group of rich people and they don't need any dividend. Only poor small investors like us long for some dividend. If not because of its cash pile of almost RM 1 billion and a multitude of other assets, Keck Seng is worth only around RM 3.
Keck Seng NTA is RM 5.54 on assets not revalued to present-day market prices. Yesterday got a knock-out blow with one big hit at RM 6.28, block selling by just one seller, out of frustration I presume, so just keep cool and start collecting as it hits RM6.00, a near 25% drop from its recent peak of 7.97. I am looking at capital gains, not just dividends alone....Cheers!
the government should start collecting withholding taxes at 10%or more from company like kseng , keeping cash and refused to distribute to all the shareholders and not doing anything except keep under the pillow. This will shrink the economy and hurt the country because not helping the country in creating jobs, less financial circulation , no growth and overall economy in a standstill.
the management team seemed to be very insensitive on the plights of minority shareholders by giving out hand-outs to beggars @ 4c a piece ! I wonder whether the co is very ill-afford to pay even 5c in round figure? After all , whatever the amount of savings are meant for all shareholders and not to the elite " major" shareholders. I wonder and very curious why they can make such a good decision?
ha.. prudentinvestor , u also cut kseng? I had exited half of my portfolio too! Can't stand the way management treated minority shareholders as dirt....
