Revenue: 4,056,640,000
Purchase: 3,786.758,000
G.Profit: 269,882,000
GP Margin: 6.65%

2022 Q1
Revenue: 4,953,258,000
Purchase: 4,444,598,000
G.Profit: 508,660,000
GP Margin: 10.27%

Huge increase on GP Margin due to the Crack Spread. Increase of GP margin shows the refineries is doing very well!

Main reason of low PAT is because of :
Inventories written down: 131,558,000
Fair value loss on derivative financial instruments: 432,206,000

The hedge is due to sudden shock of the war!

Q2 2022 will have tremendous result with crack spread average at 25+. And this will never go down.

if excluding the inventory written down of RM131m, the PAT would be better off at RM178m. but again not sure how did the inventory written down come about...

I think the co has done some creative accounting on the statement. Transferring big portion of profits offshore in the way of derivative losses

This is true. probably all losses already provided in Q1...kitchen sinking.
New hedging will be based on existing high crack spread even crack drop they will have gain on derivatives. As such Q2 will be explosive.
Nonetheless, this is pure rational speculation only. HY results are very difficult to predict since 2017...

Sorry, I really do not know on this hedging.
I depend on my accountant friend to help me on this matter.
We do not expect so high losses. We expect on 280 million.
We also do not expect inventory loss of 131 million.
We are very confused.
