1) Jaks Vietnam power plant - VN government announced new power tariff for 2023 and 2024. Tariff reduced 12%. Significant impact to JAKS as 100% reliance on this income. As IPP in Vietnam, coal and power tariff price is fixed, Government is not silly.
2) Listed Powerplants in VN reported big drop in profit and some even losses for their current QR. When we cannot get info from Jaks Hai Duong Plant, Best is to see fellow industry players. Brace for a rough Jaks Q3 and beyond.
3) VN just announced phasing out coal and LNG plant by 2030. Over 70+ Coal energy plant in Vietnam. All will be forced to convert to LNG, green ammonia or cleaner fuel. Coal is not the future. Why Jaks is raising money to buy extra 10% of the plant?
4) China will eventually exit Vietnam coal generation plant. What can a cash-strapped company like JAKs do? Even converting coal to cleaner fuel will be a massive problem.
5) Now we know why Petronas declined to participate and JV with Jaks in Vietnam. No future.

Everyone know Jaks Q3 and Q4 outlook as below except Mike-tikus aka Johnchew1-5 still promoting Jaks day and night 24/7/365 with his half past six FA and TA.

Since jaks granted 70,500,000 ordinary shares (“LTIP Shares”) SG. Share grant on 10 july 2023 hence RM12.69M of LTIP expenses will only be charged to Q3 2023 under other operating, administrative expenses.
Hence Q3 2023 NP will be Q to Q drop

Based on past 4 years norm jaks Q4 2023 another Q to Q drop due to impairment on trade and other receivables and impairment loss on goodwill.

This is what happen the past 4 years.

If no financial institution wants to lend money to jaks maybe can consider borrowing from Insas credit and leasing.

ICL reported lower revenue of RM25.5 million and pre-tax profit of RM15.9 million in FY 2023 (FY 2022: revenue of RM30.9 million and pre-tax profit of RM22.3 million) from its structured finance business due to a lower loan portfolio of RM281 million as at 30 June 2023 as compared to RM306 million on 30 June 2022. ICL’s revenue and pre-tax profit returns remain fairly consistent in line with the level of its loan portfolio.

Forget it… based on Jaks performance record. No legal lender will give loan. They got the VN Hai Duong plant solely on CPECC strength.

Today, any Banks will reject Jaks based on bad Roe and no future in Vietnam for coal energy.

Who will fund the extra 10%? Poor shareholders lo.
