COASTAL:
took some at 252 at its small double bottom.
it could fly up in the same pattern, like KOTRA
broker # 32 mac is selling.

Natural gas is considered the green energy.
n msia is a major exporter of LNG.
COASTAL has found a brand new best biz in the world now, in huge GAS conditioning JV.
unlike the highly risky oil refinery biz, COASTAL's gas biz has nothing to do with daily price trend of natural gas.
Tis, a pow.chia great high growth biz I guess.

coastal ah? can I take your word for it? tell otb to promote coastal in i3 la.
----------------
brightsmart is a poor man in I3.
He has only 100k capital to invest in KLSE.
He deserved to lose all his 100k capital in KLSE due to bad karma.

brightsmart,
Short 100k capital on Coastal shares has no effect lah.
OTB has many million waiting to buy Coastal shares.
The target price is at least 100% gain.

MoneyMakers, please talk bad about Coastal shares.

All readers,
Please note that brightsmart is talking very big to use 100k capital to short Coastal shares.
I think 100k capital is too small amount to short Coastal share.
I encourage brightsmart to use margin to sailang "short" Coastal share.

Please note that brightsmart is very poor, he has only 100k capital to invest in KLSE.
Unfortunately he lost all his 100k capital in KLSE.
I do not know how he can short Coastal share.
May be he can use "hell money" to short Coastal share.

a large number of my friends are already working on carbon credits in Malaysia

any open carbon burning thingy will be very expensive anywhere in the world, Mexico cannot just escape from United Nations by killing homo sapiens.

COP27 was mild
but COP27 attendees are already despairing that human race cannot be saved and will go extinct.
the next few COPs will just become a real Cop and start arresting people who own GPPs

arresting people who own GPPs is still better than killing the entire human race.

most probably Coastal has a "new technology"
where the GPP gas output is breathed in by humans in lieu of oxygen and then converted to energy, done without any burning at all.

This new technology will be carbon credits free, of course

PSAi3alert already mentioned pregnant female duck walking down the street.

North and South American rich businessmen from US, Brazil, Mexico etc etc are all avoiding high carbon cost businesses due to: -

1) fusion plant going online soon
2) high cost of carbon credits
3) ultimately all carbon producing thingies will be compulsory SHUTDOWN by United Nations without compensation

The urgency is due to a significant part of the earth may be destroyed as soon as 20 to 50 years time, way ahead of expected / predicted Global destruction.

from Bloomberg

Fusion Breakthrough
Scientists in California have made a key breakthrough in nuclear fusion, a technology with the potential to transform the global energy landscape. Researchers at the US Department of Energy were able produce a fusion reaction that generated more energy than it consumed, according to a source there. While the results represent a breakthrough, it’s still a long way to creating a viable technology.

Is coastal holding a loan shark license and make an interest income of RM 25 million per quarter?

JV Loans Almost Fully Disbursed. In 1QFY23, interest income from loans granted to 50%-owned joint venture (JV), Coastoil Dynamic S.A.De C.V (CDSA) spiked 30% QoQ to RM25mn. This was underpinned by disbursement of additional loans to CDSA. Evidently, outstanding JV loans due from CDSA jumped to USD166mn in 1QFY23 (4QFY22 estimate: USD141mn). Although Coastal has shareholders’ approval to lend up to USD220mn to CDSA, the actual loan amount is expected to peak at USD170mn. Thereafter, the outstanding loan is expected to reduce progressively whenever Papan’s EPC contract milestone claims are collected.

side note

Major US hedge funds have been quietly getting out of high carbon industries
Oil majors been preparing for fusion for past few years.
Exxon and Shell dumped off their businesses at firesale prices to Hibby, HengYuan, DNex etc etc

becoz of fusion, only landed oil extraction will be feasible economically
thats why UK started banning ICE cars.
Fusion = > EVs

Landed oils extraction = > 100% Petrochemicals only

Thats why Saudi already approved for construction massive petrochemical complex consuming 4,000,000 barrels of oil per day. Saudi expects their oils tap for burning to be switched off soon.

ps
pss
fyi
btw

shipping will also suffer coz fusion power travels via cables ........ wink wink
thats why under-investment in shipping by US hedge funds made the unexpected covid and Ukraine war an outlier.

any lending to family members or business associates with proven shareholdings structures does not require any license
in fact Income Tax forces you to charge interest

You need Ah Loong license only for unknown walk-ins like MikeCheatYouCrazy or brightsmart trying to borrow money from you.

Wonder anyone know what the below mean?

Gas Processing Division
The division recorded constant revenue of RM38.8million in 1Q2023 against RM38.4million posted in 4Q2022. Year-on year, the revenue was eased by RM1.3million (or3%) from RM40.1million (restated) in 1Q2022. The slightly decrease in revenue was principally due to the subsidiary that contributed the onshore gas sweetening income in last year became a joint venture and accounted for using equity accounting method for the current year.

The division achieved a higher profit before tax of RM160.6 million in 1Q2023 compared to RM78.9million and RM31.2 million (restated) reported in4Q2022 and 1Q2022, respectively. The better showing this quarter was mainly due to the interest income earned from loans granted to a joint venture as well as greater profit shared from the joint venture.

Vessel Chartering Division
The division incurred a loss margin before tax of 39% (RM5.1millionin loss) in 1Q2023 as compared to the profit margin before tax of 194% reported in 4Q 022(RM37.6million). The loss in 1Q2023 was mainly attributed to lower fleet utilization where as the profit in4Q2022 was due to the gain on disposal of an offshore support vessel. For 1Q2022, the division posted a loss margin before tax of 7% (RM0.8 million in loss) (restated).

Shipbuilding and Ship repair Division
The division incurred a greater loss before tax of RM2.8million in 1Q2023, against the RM0.9 million and RM2.5 million (restated) recorded in 4Q2022 and 1Q2022, respectively. The losses incurred was attributed to the under performance of the division.

Note: The JVC was accounted for as a “Joint Arrangement ”using equity accounting method in accordance with MFRS11 upon all the conditions precedents stipulated in the Transaction Documents are fulfilled (as mentioned in the previous paragraph). The Company accounted the results of the JVC according to its current effective shareholdings in the JVC, which is 100% as at 30September 2022. As the Shares Sale is not completed as at 30 September 2022, the Company is required to account 100% of the JVC’s results under equity accounting method.

Upon completion of the Shares Sale, the Company shall account 50% of the JVC’s results under equity accounting method. In addition, the above mentioned Effect of the Shares Sale would be accounted for as a loss on disposal of effective interest in the Joint Arrangement.

Individual 3 months ended 30 September 2022: RM’000
Profit for the period: 141,462
Less: Effect of the Shares Sale (93.795)
Adjusted profit for the period: 47,667

Sound too good to be true.
The Group’s share of profit after taxation and net assets of the joint venture was RM51.5 million and RM93.8 million respectively.

Key Audit Matter.
The Group’s 100% interest in the investment of a significant joint venture for the financial year is accounted for under the equity method. The Group’s share of profit after taxation and net assets of the joint venture was RM51.5 million and RM93.8 million respectively.

In the context of our audit of the Group’s consolidated financial statements, the key audit matters relating to the Group’s share of profit after taxation and net assets of the joint venture are as follows:

(i) Revenue recognition
Given the significant risk involved when auditing revenue, we have reviewed the component auditor’s working papers to ensure sufficient audit procedures had been performed, and the joint venture’s revenue recognition policy was consistent with the accounting standards and has been applied consistently.

(ii) Impairment assessment of trade receivables
The assessment on impairment of trade receivables involves significant management estimation and judgement in the calculation of expected credit loss, risk of default and the inherent uncertainties during the estimation process.

Nuvoil México Logo

Nuvoil operates the first processing plant of natural gas coming from Ixachi field in Veracruz
Planta Perdiz (Perdiz Plant), which is designed, built and operated by Nuvoil, processes the gas coming from Ixachi, considered as the terrestrial field with more gas resources in Mexico.

Processing capacity
The sour humid gas sweeting plant in the Perdiz Separation Battery has capacity to process 180 MMpcd of sour natural gas and condition excess sulfhydric acid and carbon dioxide from 1,100 ppm (parts per million) to 4.25 ppm.

Cutting-edge Technology
Its innovative and unique technology allows regenerating and reusing amine in its process, thus reinforcing the operational efficiency and project maintenance.

It complies with the regulation and quality control of natural gas according to the NOM-001-SECRE-2010, issued by the Natural Gas Control National Center (CENAGAS, by its Spanish acronym).

The results of this plant will benefit the society since it will reuse natural gas produced in Ixachi field in the state of Veracruz, reducing costs and contributing to reduce the greenhouse gas emission.

Nuvoil operates the first processing plant of natural gas coming from Ixachi field in Veracruz
During the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) stage, more than 300 local employment positions were created in the periphery of Tierra Blanca, Boca del Río and Veracruz, in which strict safety and health measures were applied according to both national and international standards.

A milestone was achieved last year when the group secured a 50% equity stake in 2 joint-venture projects with the Nuvoil group of companies to provide engineering, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance services (EPCOM) in Mexico worth a game-changing combined value of RM4.8bil.

This first contract, worth RM259mil over 32 months for a 180mmscfd capacity gas sweetening Perdiz Plant at Pemex’s onshore Ixachi field, Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, Mexico has commenced operation in July 2021. Subsequently, on 27 December 2021, Coastal further entered into a service agreement with its JV company to provide RM4.5bil EPCOM for the EMC Papan plant and its related infrastructure over 10 years, the largest contract ever secured by the group.

Is Coastal piggy ride on Nuvoil or the other way?

Papan, a project that concentrates the experience acquired in more than 25 years
“Papan is a wide and complex project in which we add all the experience acquired during these 25 years. The plant is constructed from scratch, and all the following processes will take place there: sweetening, refrigeration, compression and generation. This project will let us produce around 6 thousand LPG gas barrels per day, which is equivalent to supply gas for more than a million families per month”, said Mudar Jamal, Project Engineer of Nuvoil Group.

In January 2021, Pemex has awarded to a consortium associated with
Nuvoil Group (“Nuvoil”) a contract to provide gas sweetening service
for Pemex’s onshore gas operations (“Contract”). The scope of work
under the Contract mainly comprises of engineering, procurement,
construction, operation and maintenance for a gas sweetening plant in
Ixachi Field, Veracruz. The tenure for the Contract shall be 32 months
(excluding the plant construction period) with a maximum contract
value of approximately RM258.7 million subject to further extension in
tenure. Subject to Pemex’s approval, contract value shall be increased
should there be any further extension.

Upon completion of the transaction, JVC shall be the leader of the
Consortium and responsible to execute the Contract. The rights and
benefits under the Contract shall be transferred to the JVC through an
assignment from the existing Consortium members.

Can anyone tell me has the rights and benefits under the Contract already be transferred to the JVC (Coastoil Dynamic) through an assignment from the existing Consortium associated with Nuvoil Group (“Nuvoil”)?

U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm confirmed that scientists achieved a reaction that created more energy than was used — known as a net energy gain — at the federally-funded Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California.

“Last week at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, scientists at the National Ignition Facility achieved fusion ignition,” Sec. Granholm said. “It’s the first time it’s ever been done. … Simply put, this is one of the most impressive scientific feats of the 21st century.”
