@ Charles no second dividend for the time being.

a)Airasia will issue another interim/final dividend for Q4 or Q1/2019
b) Sale of ticket for 2019 Q1 were book decently. Possible another dividend in Q3 2019
c) Second special dividend on 2020 base on their financial performance.

This is a good result. Most of us on this forum tend to forget items in the company financial reports/accounts. The deferred taxation of RM515 million that powered this qtr net profit is surely in line with previous quarters reports, just that now the whole leasing company assets has been fully disposed off. Overall, not much surprises just that the operating profit is healthier than expected. AirAsia Malaysia operations is doing well, and AirAsia's portion of the subsidiaries' losses is only 59.3 million.

AirAsia declares 40 sen dividend a share after Q3 FY18 net profit surges

KUALA LUMPUR: Low-cost carrier AirAsia Bhd

declared an special dividend of 40 sen a share as its net profit jumped 81.2% in the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2018. The dividend will go ex on Dec 12.

In announced to Bursa Malaysia on Thursday its net profit rose to RM915.87mil from RM505.32mil a year ago due mainly to a one-off gain on the sale of Expedia and the reversal of deferred tax liabilities arising from the disposals of aircraft.


For Q3, AirAsia's revenue increased by 6.5% to RM2.61bil from RM2.44bil. Earnings per share were 27.40 sen compared with 15.10 sen.

“The growth was attributed to a 9% increase in total passengers carried. Overall unit passenger revenue increase by 1% as a result of average fare increase.


“Load factor was at 82% in 3Q18, compared to 87% in 3Q17, as the increase in passengers carried was lower than the 16% increase in capacity,” it said in the notes to the account.
