Those who still hope buying at cheap price, have a nice dream tonight. Keep mentioning the previous old things here to push down the price? Who also know this third QR is affected by high oil price still keep mentioning why the profit is low. Brent Oil price now is floating around 60usd, nex QR will be green and nice.

I will be taking profit at the open tomorrow. I think the fun is almost over. Operating wise, AirAsia result is bad. Special dividend of 40 cents is below market expectation of 70 cents. I believe AirAsia will gap up hard at the first hour of opening and cool off towards the end of the trading day. Expected share price increment? Maybe 10-15 cents max.

Come on man, revenue grow 6.6% proves that TF strategy to grow market share under high oil environment is working. AA still register positive operating profit given the peak oil price in Oct.

So what will happen in next few quarter under low oil price environment?

Lower special divided but the cash is still with AA for many other uses ok. Seriously dono what you guys think. Don't be sour just because you sold your shares today. I seriously dont think this is a "below expectation" results.

If oil price remain low for the next 2 months, AirAsia is likely to lock up the low oil price for 2019!

It is possible to have another special dividend at Q4 announcement in February! Just a wild guess!

If you look closely into the QR, operating profit actually decrease by around 40%, but due to factors like disposal gain, forex gain and deferred taxation, its net profit shot up by around 80%. These are all one-off gain and will come back to bite in the future. But overall 0.4c dividend might be good enough given current environment. Expect AA to go up towards year end and maybe slowly trend downwards next year.

I think it's largely positive. Growing healthily. Load factor decreased because they increased capacity to anticipate further growth. Operating profit halved due to higher fuel costs, but remember how much was the oil price during June vs now.

EPS almost doubled. From a valuation perspective, this is very good.

Dividend yield is more than 12% based on current price (where to find?). Just that SD is not as much as everyone expected... Not sure how much of the SD is already priced into the share price...

Higher EPS also means higher dividend payout. This dividend is final dividend (not special dividend) and confirm will get one. With the cumulative 3 quaters' EPS for FY2018 at 72.4 sen, according to AAGB's payout policy of 20%, the dividend is already at 15 sen per share, 25% higher than 2016 and 2017 which was 12 sen.

In other words, the THREE quarters of 2018 will already produce more value (dividend, and to an extent, share price) for shareholders compared to FOUR quarters for last year.

On QR and others....

i. Dig out my draft note, correct me if i am wrong.
AAC, another RM1.6b received in Oct 2018. USD148.4m worth of planes yet to be transferred (last 5 planes of AAC). AAC expected to complete by end of Dec, so they can book another billion ringgit of profit.

ii. Cash as in QR is 4.4b, plus 1.6b in Oct, makes 6b. 40c special dividend will be around 1.336b, really token 碎紙 only. Still plenty of cash left. Another special dividend will be very very likely to happen.

iii. Cost down, and revenue up!!!! In this poor economic environment, Airasia really did super well. Management of Airasia makes all other "professional managers" look like kindergarten kids. (I was wrong worrying Airasia diversify too much).

iv. Oil down, and down, Airasia easily make an extra 1-2b next year, and even more the year after.

v. Really well done on speculating oil prices, very very little hedge on oil.

vi. I am surprised people still can find something to complain on Airasia performance, look at all other counters, wonder how can they lose soo much money.

vii. The economy is so so bad. Next year you will see bank has lots and lots of NPL. Stay cautious!

Still 100% on Airasia.
