Just for information for your "analysis":
The price for jet fuel is not the same like the oil price! Its higher than the oil price!
Jets are not flying with oil they are flying with kerosin. So you need a process on top....

AA with 100million customers can think and twist on how to take an extra RM1 here and there from each customer would be enough to meet any extra costs or make extra money.

LOL, it is MAHB, and the LANUN politicians from UMNO who thinks of such method to milk the customers. AA is protecting customers from paying the extra cost. In Malaysia LANUN policies have driven up prices of goods and services causing artificial inflation due to corrupt agencies and govt departments. All filled with 1 race 1 religion with LANUN mentality.

If you look at oil prices high and low, compare with average fare of Airasia, actually the two moves together.

This is marginal cost pricing, the higher the cost, the higher the selling price. This strategy is designed to maximise pressure to your competitor. Now, Malindo and MAS shrinking, Airasia can raise prices on its will. As Airasia becomes more and more efficient, Malindo and MAS becomes more and more difficult to catch up.

@Springtime Are you wondering why Airasia stopped giving out 1 million free tickets? Airport regulators became pirates of KLIA and proxy for political leeches. All of them were harassing AA for some cut in profit. This drives up cost, hence, customer goodies need to be stopped..

Thai Airasia results was announced 22/23 last two years, hope this year early too. (Yeah, I know some news portal said 26/27 but that's hardly accurate). I think Thai Airasia's result is going to be fantastic. Besides (much) better business environment, Tessapon bought back large block of shares. Its a bit like TF did PP few years ago, got "omh" one.

In 2018Q4, proceeds from AAC plane sale amounted to 1.5b, that's about 40-45c. 40c special dividend distributed is proceeds up to Q3.
