As much as 90% of YTLP earning is derive from oversea business, British pound and Singapore dollar, both appreciate against weak Ringgit. 1 sterling now = RM 6.02; 1 SGD = RM 2.80, it showed clearly sterling pound have appreciate more than 10% and SGD appreciate more than 7% against ringgit

Local company doing business here are greatly affected by weak ringgit, what better for ytlp is that despite listed in msia, but 90% of its earning is actually derive from oversea, akin those export oriental buiness, earn foregin currency. What more better further is that ytlp oversea buiness are concession base, water (uk, profit in pound sterling) and power ( sinapore, profit in SGD and power in indonesia, profit in USD), both are recession proof.

No doubt, YTLP debt are also mostly denominated in foreign currency, but there are ring fence, naturally hedge such as YTLP debt in British pound is back by its Wesexx Water concession, earning pound; debt in Singapore is back by Power Seraya which is earning SGD; debt in USD is back by earning in PT Jawa Power which earning in USD . Therefore, YTLP strategic work well, debt is localize where business is doing, thus, the oversea profit is localize pay first scheduled bond repayment, and then only the net profit from oversea business to account back in RM. In short, weaken in RM is good for YTLP as net profit in pound, USD and SGD translate into higher RM revenue and profit

Any news of their Jordan project ? Completion will propel them to a higher level never seen before (at least 50%). The only worry is Jordan get sucked into a war (quite unlikely as it is a US ally)

Jorhan project is still under construction, only will be ready by 2017. These power plant is under 30 year concession with predetermined power rate and is use shale oil as feeding source of energy. Ytlp have 35% effective stake and future earning is on US denominated, a natural hedge against its also USD loan borrowing for power plant construction.

It is power plant under concession, generate power to supply electricity to jordan consumer. The power is generated using shale oil as feed stock which will supply by one of JV company in power plant. The important is that power plant have secure fixed electricity rate from gov and is denominated in USD and the power plant have appoint china energy company to construct the plant and the cost is finance also by bank in china, loan also denominated in USD

Better buy landed houses like low cost, single or double storey houses in Iskandar now!!??.....in time of downturn, the poor income group is the MOST affected.....Proton car is most affect sales as compared to Benze....the gap between upper class and lower class is further widen....if you ever think to buy low cost house, rent out to poor income group of people....most likely it will be default....and also don expect Malaysian work in Singapore to rent you low cost house as their affordability is much increase with stronger SGD.

I managed to sell Ytl Power above Rm1.60 when They failed to get the project in Johore. At least I am getting 12% to 15% yield from landed properties.

I think I will wait till Rm1.00 before switching back to Ytl
