@sslee I would attribute EPF shares disposal to I-Sinar,just like how they are disposing many other shares too. 10k EPF withdrawal per person,EPF would need to vomit out a lot of cash. So that’s inevitable as is happening to many other counters too. The drop in share price only opens up window for people to make a lower entry price and for ongoing shareholders to average down. I won’t be too concern of the so called “catching a falling knife” since this company has a really solid track record of consistent earnings for the past 10 years.

@i3lurker boring la you everyday re-goreng the same fried rice again and again, sei ong9 sek jor yok mei? :D

To long term investors: Essentially, regardless of what external factors causing the drop in share price, good news to long term investors is that nothing changes within the business fundamental. It’s all fugaezee fugarzee woozyy wazzy (read in Matthew McConaughey voice)... over time, share price will always realign to business fundamental, those who bought in at a low price will laugh in sleep :D

Investment based on Margin of safety is layback and simple n usually successful mah...!!

Benjamin Graham has been practising it successfully mah...!!

Insas is a good classic margin of safety stock pick here loh..!!

If u buy insas even if no growth say u get 4% yield pa....but u pay rm 0.835 for rm 2.62 nta AND worth rm 3.70 of assets mah...!!

Thus rm 2.62 x 4% pa ur return is rm 0.10 per share loh...!! Rm 0.10 per share profit on insas agst ur investment cost of rm 0.835 already got yield or return on investment of 14% pa...so u chinchai already got return every year loh...!!

So there are 3 potential gain on insas if u buy cheap mah;
1. The discount of rm 2.62 for rm 0.835 u already save rm 1.79 per share
2. U getting fixed about 0.10 cashflow...that give u yield 12% pa.
3. There is some potential for your earnings growth loh..!!

Compare QL
For Ql u get less than 1% pa div yield & PE 50x....that will require about 50 yrs to 1000 yrs, just to get back ur investment capital...yes u can rely on growth but how much & how long, it require to catch up with insas if u overpay on QL leh ??

For all u may know....it will never catch up loh...!!

Conclusion
Insas value is already there mah...!!

For QL u hope ur value can grow & grow to catch up with insas loh...!!

But insas already there & far ahead of QL mah....!!

Thats why raider says insas is msian berkshire hathway, which again proven true loh!.

"INSAS WITH RM 2.75 NTA & WITH INARI IT IS REVISE TO RM 4.50 COMPARE TO SHARE PRICE RM 0.865 ....Its SHARE PRICE DEFINITELY MUCH BETTER THAN QL AT RM 6.14 HALF DEAD NTA OF RM 1.34, AND worse QL ONLY CAN AFFORD TO PAY SYMBOLIC MISERABLE DIV OF LESS THAN 1% LOH"...!!

Haha are you seriously trying to compare a 14 billion ringgit company with a 2 billion ringgit company?
If that is the case why don't compare Insas with inari?
The difference is clear, one sells stocks for a living and the other is a real company that sells products that everybody wants.

Good morning Philip,
I thought you teach me in valuation to compare earning to earning so now also need to compare whether it is 14 billion ringgit company with a 2 billion ringgit company?

As for Insas I just like my investment in 1 insas as indirectly hold 0.84 Inari and everything else inside Insas.

Remember you told me if Insas will to sell Inari, it will be at discount price. So suprised Insas just sold a total of 55 million Inari shares all the way up the price in Q1. The more Insas sell inari shares the higher Inari shares price went up.

A 2 billion company have better earning and earning growth compare to a 14 billion company. So in make the choice so much easy.

@sslee
Honesty Allianz share price trend over the years is quite attractive to me,hence I just quickly flipped through Allianz latest QR,here are some of the points I picked up at a glance. (Though I must first say comparing Allianz with QL is like comparing an apple to orange, but I’ll do it anyway for the sake of analyzing their earnings)

1.) asset/liabilities ratio of 1.1 (IMO not high enough to cushion any unforeseen financial circumstances).
2.) asset quality: most of asset values tied to investment, amounting 13bil out of total assets of 14bil.
3.) cash and its equivalent 694mil,which is approx. 4% of total assets, far inadequate if I were to clear off short term debt.
4.) 10% drop in YoY net profit (174mil -> 157mil),hence drop in EPS 73 cents -> 66 cents.
5.) in cash flow statement, purchase of financial investment increases from 1.3b to 2.7b,but the limpairment loss on the financial investment significantly increases from 9.3m to 113m,thereby contributing to drop in net cash from 949m to 694m as of Q3FY20.

What does it tell you if you compare its financial health to that of QL’s?

@sslee as a long term investor,I would definitely dig deeper than comparing market cap alone. A good company must not only generate good profit, but must have a strong financial cushion lest the investors lose sleep. But thanks for highlighting the counter to me,will keep an eye on it haha..

@sslee I’m not the smartest in the investing world, but I know for a fact there must be a reason why many people are willing to pay a premium to own just a tiny piece of QL.Heck,I must admit I feel the money that I invest can be better put to faster growing companies, but can other companies sustain its fast growth rate?how long?As eventually all growth will revert to its mean.

stockraider,
when i investing in a company, i must find out the weakness of this company, the more you understand this company , the more hidden weakness in this company you will discover.

insas is typical value trap stock, that is many smart investor in our market, the true hidden gem will not stay undervalue for more then 5 years. that's a reason why some stock keep stay "undervalue" for long time.

please stop spamming your insas message to other stock page, today is sunday, go get some rest.

Raider is a "savior" not hard sell promoter loh...!!

A BIRD IN THE HAND IS BETTER THAN 2 IN THE BUSH LOH..!!

Why waste time forecast & calculate and speculate your future cashflow leh ?
U just look at insas it already has more than Rm 600m nett cash in hand, u look at inari value in which insas is holding & 19% mkt cap exceed the whole of insas mkt cap mah.!!
Furthermore the company is trading at PE 6.5x and with a div yield of 3% pa already in your pocket mah....!!
Most importantly the company has an nta Rm 2.75 to Rm 4.50 per share v mkt price Rm 0.89 loh....!!

To conclude if u buy into insas with huge margin of safety and already successful why subject yourself to the uncertainty of forecasting the unpredictablility of growth leh ??

Buy something that has great value at a big discount which already there mah.....!! Insas is the best margin of safety stock loh...!!

IN INSAS AT RM 0.89, U CAN SEE TRANSPARENTLY ITS FAIR VALUE LOH...!!
NTA RM 2.75 TO RM 4.50

NOT NEED LIKE SOHAI 3iii & DK TRYING VERY HARD TO SPECULATE INTRINSIC VALUE on Nestle & jaks something just for shiok sendiri LOH!

If it is a merge, this means QL will also be in the solar panel industry?
http://www.boilermech.com/about.html#subsidiaries

Since QL already own a large % of BM, I think this is a positive sign. More growth.
I still dont know why QL is not in KLCI30, maybe tomorrow got double good news?
The last time they chose KLCCP over QL is such a stupid move. KLCCP is a reits and no growth during a pandemic. Now KLCCP market cap is smaller than QL.

1. Takeover offer at market price but intend to keep Boilermech listed, my best guess is to improve the chance of getting into KLCI.

2. QL has plenty of cash and plenty of growth, all segments will do really well CY2021. QL and Boilermech both run by the same group of people, except Managing director Mr. Chia Song Kooi not in Boilermech.

3. QL invested into solar panel installation in its Hutan Melintang, Endau and Tuaran bases, each with 8MW capacity. I guess making Boilermech a subsidiary creates some synergy: solar panels can be put on top of chicken sheds.

4. Really enjoy to read Managing Director's report, really pleased he admitted Raud has HPAI.

5. Buy as much as I can.

At conditional MGO at 95 cents most likely the independent advisor will advise the offer price is fair and reasonable and recommend shareholders to accept the offer.

The question
Is boilermech a good buy for QL?
Do QL need bank borrowing to make the acquisition?

The best person to give an opinion is Philip because he knew Boilermech well.

(Aduh, sslee).

(zzz)

QL buys 4% from a partner at market price, and says intend to keep Boilermech listed. Not many will sell to QL and QL won't buy much. QL will end up with slightly more than 50%.

If BM shareholders believe in synergy will be created, they won't sell. If BM shareholders believe no synergy will be created, they will sell at market price. Either way QL won't get much. (That's the intention, otherwise QL will offer higher price).

DannyArcher

1,258 posts

Posted by DannyArcher > 2020-12-04 17:34 | Report Abuse

For those clueless, QL bought up 4% of BM from one of the director/partner/main shareholder. This automatically triggers a mandatory take-over offer. QL has no intention of de-listing BM, QL has no intention of buying anymore of BM, this is why they simply offer the last closing price of 95 cent for BM. If they are serious, they would have offered more and started buying up BM today.

For those that panic, hold tight. FamilyMart has great potential, just go to their FB and read the comments, good or bad? So many request them to open up in their area, but FM do it slowly to control the quality of the food. Good management will not rush, bad management will rush to open as many as they can to boost the share price.

Posted by Philip ( buy what you understand) > 2020-12-08 19:12 | Report Abuse

Sslee, not really sure if you understand QL at all. But your methods of simply posting random facts up shows you don't understand how the boilermech offer works.
