Two wrongs don't make a right. Racism in Malaysia has got nothing to do with the British.

traderstrades, And they left. The racism here is because of local politics.

Time for the resignation of top party leaders of DAP for bungling in the first 22 months when the RAKYAT gave them the power to rule. These DAP leaders didn’t know it was coming and coming through the back door in their own backyard and worst didn’t know what has hit them now. Many DAP leaders who claim to be veterans in politics but failed to hold on to power for at least for 5 years.DAP leaders were day dreaming and assuming their political power will last for at least 5 years.Shame!DAP LEADERS GOT TO LEARN A LOT MORE ABOUT POLITICS AND POWER.

Good day mate! In the US the black who was brought as slaves and their descendant thereafter, remained marginalised.
In Malaysia, some of the descendants of migrant labours from China and India end up as billionaires and controlling the nation's economy.

Remember that the difference between hyprocrisy and democracy lies in the chest of Article 153 of the Federal Constitution.

How ironic! When South Africa had apartheid, our Government led by Tunku campaigned on the world stage against SA. Then, Razak introduced institutionised apartheid into Malaysia. Folks, we have apartheid staring right in our faces, and we just pretend we are holier than thou.

Unfortunately, Malaysia is the winner in the area of racism, because even some laws are explicitly racist.

Malaysian full economic and value chain recovery by the second half of 2020

The Malaysian Islamic Party’s Central Committee on Economic, Real Estate and Entrepreneur Development has predicted that the country’s GDP growth rate can reach 2.5-3 percent in 2020 despite the COVID-19 outbreak.

Malaysia's GDP growth rate may reach 2.5-3 percent in 2020
Although it is a drastic reduction of pre-pandemic forecasts and the lowest since 2009, the projection runs counter to several recent predictions that the Malaysian economy would actually shrink by up to 1.0 percent.

Vice Chairman of the committee Mazli Noor said that the 0.7 percent GDP growth registered in the first quarter is reflective of the country’s resilience in the context of the ongoing pandemic.

The relatively modest performance for the first quarter of 2020 is supported by the services and manufacturing sectors, which grew 3.1 percent and 1.5 percent respectively, with other sectors experiencing varying degrees of deficits.

He said that services, manufacturing and construction will play a major role in the nation’s growth. Supported by the government's Prihatin Economic Stimulus Package that was announced earlier, the committee is projecting a 5.0 percent to 5.5 percent growth in the services sector this year, with manufacturing coming in at around 3.0 percent and construction contributing an estimated 1.0 percent to the nation’s economic growth.

The recently announced conditional movement control order (CMCO), which allows for a more flexible and deliberate reopening of the economic sector, also provides much-needed room for economic activities to resume, he added.

The committee agrees with analyst projections of a full economic and value chain recovery by the second half of 2020, with the construction sector - particularly that involving government public infrastructures - being allowed to return to full speed.

Painting a rosy picture when in reality it's going to be an economic contraction. His figures are laughable and that's probably the reason why Kelantan is the poorest state in Malaysia with economists like him !

Posted by LOVE IS IN THE AIR..... > 2020-06-15 11:41 | Report Abuse

Of course I believe.

Singapore foreign workers are infected with Covid 19 in the tens of thousands and Malaysia until recently hardly any and most recently 15 cases.

The world including the USA is facing massive unemployment, the worse since the Great depression and Malaysia statistics forecasts a range that is the same or 2 percentage worse only.

Of course despite there being no air travel, 300,000 workers cannot travel daily to Singapore to work, no Singaporeans travelling to Malaysia to shop, rock bottom demand for oil anf prices (same for palm oil) being a key export earning money Malaysia can still manage growth based on PAS.

What nonsense. These idiots have no grounding in reality. This is obvious the product of the local PAS no standard schools and equally someone who made it to an equally no standard university based on privileges derived from race and not merit.

I suppose it explains why PAS states are basket cases as are businesses run by PAS and the like. When they start a business with free money or cheap loans they project base on their wonderful business plans deluded profits they feel they can earn. Without even making a cent they spend beyond their means to renovate their homes, buy expensive furniture and the obligatory Mercedes or BMW. Let's not talk about luxury holiday shopping trips.

THEN THE MARKETS SPEAK, and the business fails (so many examples not worth writing) and the public needs to bail them out again. This is what is going to happen to our GLCs.

My advice when you read PAS and the like and their 'economic' papers - throw in the rubbish bin, that is where it belongs.

HO ho HO Dr M, our PM7 has single-handedly crippled and perhaps bankrupt our government with so many terribly bad decisions

1) Dr M decision to scrap RM 44 billion GST just 6 DAYS after winning GE14 has resulted in government tax revenue reduce to a trickle. And what is most shocking is to see how the PH clowns blindly and hastily introduce the bill but failed to deliver the desire outcome of reducing cost of living for Malaysian.

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:53 | Report Abuse

2) The introducing of SST, an inferior tax which over 150 countries around the world have abandon, has created unnecessary cost pressure for Malaysia based manufacturing companies, making Malaysia produced goods noncompetitive, resulted in many SME shutting down due to unfavorable tax system and loop holes.

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:53 | Report Abuse

3) His relentless and over zealous attempt to establish himself as the honcho of Islamic world has soured our relationship with major trading partners, and create unnecessary social and religious tension within Malaysia.

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:54 | Report Abuse

4) His decision to go against previous government advise of not using unsustainable oil revenue to fund expenditure has once again been proven to be a tragic as oil price has now sunk to record low and Petronas could risk going bankrupt if government continue to s.u.c.kle on its revenue.

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:54 | Report Abuse

5) His decision to move Khazanah from MOF to PMO was a blatant abuse of power allowing himself absolute power in decision making and that has resulted in Dr M selling over 30% or RM 40 billions of Khazanah assets in just 20 months. Presumably setting aside funds to pay for this nonsensical national car project.??

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:54 | Report Abuse

6) Like old dog trying to impress us with old trick, he and his dull witted LGE decided to take up RM7.4 billion worth of Japanese Yen loan which was supposed to cost only 0.65%. But they have failed to inform Malaysians about the forex risk. As a result of falling ringgit, the same loan will now cost Malaysia 9% to pay back or RM 600 ,000,000 more.

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:55 | Report Abuse

7) Dr M reckless and selfish decision to allow UMNO members to join PH through Bersatu backdoor was the beginning of the end of PH and the reason that cause a split within Bersatu and eventually the collapse of PH government. And now he is trying to blame Bersatu for kicking him out.

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:55 | Report Abuse

8) As captain of the ship, Dr M was supposed to protect his crews and passengers on board in time of crisis. When it come to the crunch, instead of doing what he was supposed to do, he decided to jump off the deck moment before ship wreck to pursue his person political interest and power play. And that is exactly what happen between 23 Feb to 10 Mar. Instead of protecting Malaysians, he decided to quit as PM to engage in messy political orgy to find excuses to remain as PM till he turn 100. This 1 mistake alone will cost the country few hundred billions in economic damages which will take many generation to pay off.

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:55 | Report Abuse

9) As an old dog, Dr M modus operandi has always been about provoking Malay sentiment by calling them lazy, but in actual fact, he was the laziest of them all (if you consider him as Malay). Instead of implementing sound policies for the benefit of Malaysia survival, Dr M has always been taking the lazy route of relying Petronas money like ATM machine to pay for his race policy in order to gain Malay support and treating them like some low witted low hanging fruit. And as a result, the once Asian Tiger is now becoming more like a Hello Kitty.

Posted by QuellingBlaster > 2020-06-15 11:55 | Report Abuse

Najib and 1MDB is really bad, wait till we count the cost of Dr M's follies. Now that the oil revenue dries up, Malaysia is left with nothing except Dr M big empty slogan

What economic model is he using that other economists are not aware! Perhaps he based his projection on Pas ruled Kelantan economic growth for the last 30 years! Currently the state is being sustained economically by federal govt handouts and logging concessions. This current dual policy is so successful for Pas, that their success is now being measured by the new economic tool Mercedes Luxury Index!

Mr Simpleton. .if we can arrive at a nonsensical unrealistic figure for the poor ...all those figures you quote would be taken with a large pinch of salt...unemployment rising from 3.2 to 3.5 percent is already a laughable figure...

DEY! The stupidity of the new government is getting unbearable. Why based on the miserable 1st quarter to conclude on resilience of the Malaysian economy? Although international trade was beginning to feel the pain due to supply chain disruption, the first quarter has not gotten the real negative impact of MCO that started around 11 March.
Now we are reading news about the closing down of hotels and selling off of such properties, pay cut, staff cut. Unemployment rate increased. Mind you, 30% of our trade is with China. If China adjusted its 2020 forecast to factor in the negative impact of the pandemic, as with many affected countries, why is Malaysia so resilient?

No wonder many commentators here called the resilience and growth a BN-PAS income growth!!
Tolonglah, jangan buat kami seperti katak di bawah tempurung.

Whatever aid package disbursed will be used to pay off debts accrued over the months of economic inactivity. What will be left to kick start demand? This is a very unreal assumption by this economist. Perhaps a re reading of Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations may be in order for this economist. Even the most blind optimist would not dare to make such a ludicrous prediction. This is the kind of desperate cooking of the books to give a illusion that the nation is still afloat.

The only certainty about this year is the uncertainty of the next course of action by the virus—nothing else. There may be a growth in the subsistence economic activities as commonly witnessed in Kelantan nationwide. Such growth won’t create wealth to support the population’s real need of education, accommodation, healthcare and savings. PAS still can’t go beyond its theology of cave lifestyles that thrives in a subsistence economy.

Now we have thickskull Pas economist with a religious Arabia phd in economics denouncing BNM forecast and others. Malls, real estate agents dealing in properties , food bazaars, hawkers, restaurants, barbers, hotels , tourism , homestay and tourism buses , etc so many in dysfunctional mode ( auctions , bankruptcies to come ) and can’t understand what thoughts is in that enriched PN bandits comparing with . We know the economy for thieves and kleptocrats in PN circle, cronies, GLCs , corporate appointments economy has trebled and some in billions ringgit loot and going Scot free. PM looters economy must be best in the world in a pandemic to be few hundred percent rate rise .

Need to send these people back to school. The 1st quarter includes January & Feb when the outbreak was still under control and not exploded yet, we were still seeing positive growth these 2 months. Hence the 0.7 has included the carryover from both months. Then some goons started to play from the backyard and this is when things went out of hand. If the outbreak has started to lose control earlier we will not see positive GDP! Got it??

How contrived yr thinking is given PAS's plan to ban alcohol and gambling & such the loss of such revenue, multiplier effect and tax proceeds!

How did the GLC's and Ministry of Finance missed such a character ? They should hire him immediately for his vast expierience.

Or is he trying to make himself known. As they might have missed him for that GLC or one of the Director's post.

Or is he thinking that there are many fools out there that might believe in his figures. After all there indeed are.

The world is at a standstill. Every buisness is affected right from the tourism, education, health, textiĺes, housing, banking, airlines even food as many restaurants are already close or running at half the capacity.

Where did he pluck his figures from ? It is already the middle of the year and still no sign of the pandemic slowing down.

Until there is no vaccine found, the world will not return to the normal existence it was in.

Every nation and their economist are issuing negative growth. Our super intelligent economist which the Ministry of Finance should employ him as their adviser is giving a complete diffetent set of scenario.

My opinion that these PAS fellows are all "Katak Di Bawah Tempurung" cases. I guess these PAS fellows are basing their expert opinion from siting in a air con office and getting "Ilham" from the heavens on the Malaysian economic status. The private sector has been decimated by the covid 19 MCO as businesses have been ordered to close. Now that we are in the CMCO period where human traffic outdoors has increased but that is not being transmitted to people going out and making huge purchases for any and everything hence business seem to be sluggish. Once the CMCO is lifted and it is business back to normal, the full impact of the global and local economy meltdown will take effect. The talk around town in the private sector is based on two issues 1) Retrenchment 2) Survival. I am not sure if Mazli Noor is getting his global economic outlook from reading harakah or from day dreaming of a Malaysian Utopid under PAS leadership but coming back to reality; the global supply chain has been disrupted and broken hence worsening and deepening the the global recession. So if Mazli Noor thinks manufacturing and construction will lift the Malaysian economy; then my question to him 1) Malaysian purchasing power is in doldrums hence who will be buying locally manufactured stuff. Even if there are buyers for our locally manufactured stuff internationally (mind you the whole world is in economic crisis) the global supply chain is dead in the water hence how are we going to get our manufactured stuff out to the buyers 2) Construction - so who are the main players in construction. Construction companies are going to have a tough sale ahead once their projects are ready.. Who do construction companies hire? Malaysians ? If Mazli Noor has ventured out of his air con office and into the city; the benefactors of the construction boom (or bust) are the foreign workers. I guess when PAS & PN's optimistic economic outlook become a grim reality and the Malay people start losing their jobs & income and clamor to their "Malay First" gov't for financial aid and help which the PN gov't will not be able to help as there is no money in the nations coffers and also the UMNO & PAS politicians piranhas need to be feed first and foremost; I guess PAS has to blame their trusted boogymen - DAP & the Chinese.
