Bonus issue is rather in appropriate description as it does not impact the value of your holding immediately after the bonus issue. For 1:1 bonus issue the share price will drop exactly by half and your shareholding will double on XD date! So no difference. However as the share price will be perceived as cheaper it may attract new investors.
