Was expecting the price to go up to RM1.80 cum-bonus (wild guess), but seems like hitting blocks at RM1.74-RM1.75. Given the value of the penang land to be unlocked in stages, long term potential will outweigh the impact from lower CPO price.

Will Q118 results be better thn Q117?

Based on my analysis, average CPO price for Q117 is 16% higher (after take into count export tax impact of approx. 5% for Q117) thn Q118.

Note: There are no CPO export tax for Q118.

Q118 production (226,323 MT) is 7.4% higher thn Q117 (209,527 MT).

Net basis, normalized palm business for Q118 should see LOWER profit by approx. 9-10%, which is RM4.5m-5.0m. (Based on Q117 profit of RM44.2m+Net interest cost of RM5.8m)

However, there will be savings on interest expense of RM5.0-5.8m due to settlement of revolving loan as a result of cash pile from Penang land sales.

Thus, if my calculation is correct, Q118 results should matches Q117. Expected ex-bonus dividend payout should be 1.7-1.8 sen (2.5sen x 5/7)
