Have been investing in uwc since the IPO, their prospect saying may be good but action speaks louder than the words. This term, the ball is not on their side, fundamental fact speaking is weaker

This week the edge weekly (5/2/2024) very good article on insights to UWC.
Gists of the article:
Many of their customers from the front end segment have indicated that the semiconductor industry will be seeing a tsunami of orders in 2025. Therefore they are expanding their capacity to cater to their clients growing demand.
They are moving towards advanced packaging which essentially involves embedding the integrated circuit into the packaging. In todays context, the development of artificial intelligence chips relies heavily on advanced packaging.
Most importantly they are involved in front end semiconductor segment which is where the money is. Though now this segment contributes less than 10% of their revenue, but they are allocating 70% of capex for front end and is expecting front end segment to contribute 30-40% of the group top line.
Those who are familiar with semi conductor industry, Front end is rare segment in Malaysia and its lucrative segment. Hence this company will have good potential and bright future.

Feb 5): Public Investment Bank Bhd (PIVB) has maintained an "overweight" call on the technology sector, following various upbeat outlook reports for global wafer capacity, semiconductor sales, equipment orders and personal computer (PC) sales.
In a note, the research bank said it is increasingly confident that the global technology downcycle has bottomed out.
"Malaysian players have started seeing the spillover effects from the intensifying United States (US)-China trade sanctions, as more technology-related investments are pouring into Malaysia, while some Chinese players are considering passing some chip-packaging orders to Malaysian peers.
PIVB noted that in a bid to diversify the supply chain and hedge risks against intensifying US chip export and chip-making equipment controls, a growing number of Chinese semiconductor design companies are tapping on Malaysia’s advanced chip-packaging services to assemble a type of graphic processing unit (GPU) that can be used in AI training.

@INVEST_AA
Nice article.
But it's regarding the semicon industry in general.
It still take UWC to bid for the job to replenish their dwindling order book.
Hope for the best!

AI and semiconductor stocks surge after Nvidia's earnings beat!
Artificial intelligence and semiconductor chip stocks rallied after U.S. chip design firm Nvidia beat Wall Street's expectations for fourth-quarter earnings and revenue on Wednesday and projected "continued growth" in 2025 and beyond.

Nvidia Corp. surged in early trading after delivering another eye-popping sales forecast, adding fresh momentum to a stock rally that already made it the world’s most valuable chipmaker.
The outlook extends a streak of Nvidia shattering expectations, thanks to insatiable demand for its artificial intelligence accelerators — highly prized chips that crunch data for AI models. The technology has helped power a proliferation of chatbots and other generative AI services, which can create text and graphics based on simple prompts.
“Accelerated computing and generative AI have hit the tipping point,” Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said in the statement. “Demand is surging worldwide across companies, industries and nations.”

Judging from its EPS, NTA and number of shares, just wonder the logic/reasons behind the valuation of this company for its current price.

Uwc business getting hit by higher cost and material price. Order soften. Majority of order is park material for customer first and collect money later. To capture revenue

So sad to see the orderbook remains at rm120million for so many months.
Need to revamp new leadership in UWC to bring the company to new level.

ASML's 4Q orders triple in sign of semiconductor industry revival.
Jan 24): ASML Holding NV orders more than tripled last quarter from the previous three months, in a sign that the semiconductor industry is resurgent.
Order bookings rose to a record €9.19 billion (RM47.26 billion) in the fourth quarter (4Q) from €2.6 billion in July to September, driven by demand for its most sophisticated machines, Europe’s most valuable technology company said in a statement on Wednesday.
ASML is the only company that produces equipment needed to make the most sophisticated semiconductors, and demand for its products is a bellwether for the industry’s health. Record orders for its top-of-the-line extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines show optimism among the biggest customers for the technology, including Intel Corp, Samsung Electronics Co and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC).
Artificial intelligence (AI), which requires massive amounts of computing power, is going to be a “big driver for our business and the business of our customers,” chief executive officer Peter Wennink said in an interview on Bloomberg TV.
