Closed at 0.835... its daily candle is exactly on ema7 right now. I'm 50-50 on Pantech right now.

I guess there are about 10m esos unexercised. After exercise, grantees could sell for quick and handsome profits.
The bigger issue may b the yearly RM10m director remuneration. 3 rather-senior directors may need to slowly hand over to next generation so the company continues to grow at good pace.

Pantech has already broken its descending triangle's floor. If it closes lower than 0.835, there's a high probability downtrend is on its way.
From what I see, there are attempts to push the price up a bit but with very little volume, followed by large selling volume, as if the push up of price is superficially done to allow selling at a favorable price.

Pantech’s PE multiple is currently akin to steel counter at single digit but today all steel counters shot up but Pantech share price didn’t move up.

Pantech has BO from its descending channel today at 0.83. Hopefully it will close at least at this price.

This company operates in two booming sectors: oil and palm oil. It seems to have pricing power and able to maintain EPS of at least RM0.12 a year, going forward. The company is in a position to increase dividend to RM0.08 a year. The fair value of this company lies around RM1.20. Attractive price to enter currently.

The EPS is up 5% QoQ. Down 9% YoY. Half Year down 4%.
I don't see anything alarming. The company is not in a growing phase and they are only at optimal size with healthy earnings.
The dividend payout is 3/6.7 = 45% which is very comfortable.

QR no good😥, still able to maintain dividend of 1.5sen😀.
Next QR should be better since Petronas has huge capex
starting this year.

📌 9MFY24 core net profit came in within ours but below consensus’ expectations.
📌 The group declared a third interim dividend of 1.5 sen/share, bringing the YTD DPS to 4.5 sen.
📌 3QFY24 PBT dropped 41.8% YoY dragged by both softer demand from local O&G projects for the Trading Division as well as lower ASP and lower demand for the Manufacturing division.
📌 The group should register better performance in FY25 as the tenders for major projects such as PIPC are expected to commence in mid-2024.
📌 Reiterate Buy with an unchanged TP of RM1.18/share based on 10x CY24 EPS.

Company has 225m cash and bank balance... only 12m in FD. They even had 205m in short term borrowings probably for buying materials. Why do they even waste the 225m when they can use it to buy materials with cash without using short term borrowings? Or at least put them in FD. If you assume short term borrowings as LC/BA/TR, at around 6% annually, they would have save millions in borrowing cost.

it's important to keep some cash and available credits especially to bid for new projects. Customersndo evaluate.the company cash flow to ensure their financial ability to take up expensive projects.
Interest from loans can help to offset some taxes. it's a smart way to optimise tax.
All smart biz ppl do take up loans and now you know why.

My bad, you reminded me of how the banks are operating. If you don't use a big portion of the facilities you secured, chances are they will be downsized in near future. I just thought that they could at least at least put some of these money to better use like short term FD which could be redeemed to payoff these operating capex borrowings if necessary.

Loan interest is expense to P&L, that will offset the income and hence the net taxable amount is lower. make sense?
