Business Background

Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust is a retail focused REIT. Hektar REIT's principal objective is to provide its Unitholders with a defensible income distribution and to enhance the long-term value of the fund. It invests in income-producing real estate primarily used for retail purposes. Hektar REIT's portfolio currently consists of shopping centres situated in Subang Jaya, Melaka, Muar, Sungai Petani and Kulim.

miniminer hing not right for this counter,
1. Most of the mall counter like CMLT show good result during Holiday session but not this ctr.
2. Purchase additional business "School" did not see any improvement in profits.
3. The additional 20% private placement did not bring any positive value to current shareholders.
4. Compare to last years the result and distributable $$ is obviously declining while all sectors are recovering/performing, especially the tourism and mall.

May be MACC need to check the accounting .......hehehe...................

As a retailer, I can't predict this.
I believe market knew about this at least 1-2 weeks prior with the gap down after closing strongly at 72 sen.

Nevertheless, this shows why it is important to diversify, so that sudden news like this doesn't prevent our total portfolio from making new highs again.

Thanks to LCTITAN, today, my portfolio made new all time highs again, notwithstanding HEKTAR has been a drag since hitting a high of 72 sen 2 weeks ago. In fact, since 2 weeks ago, my portfolio made new all time highs 3 times, notwithstanding HEKTAR fell from 72 sen to 62 sen.

Adam92Rosli Hektar Asset Management Sdn Bhd, the manager of Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (Hektar Reit), announced yesterday the completion of the acquisition of Kolej Yayasan Saad Melaka (KYSM), a fully residential and co-educational private school, for RM148.5 million.

The acquisition marks a pivotal moment in Hektar Reit's strategic expansion and diversification efforts, being the first educational asset in its portfolio, Hektar Asset Management said.

KYSM has consistently ranked among the top 10 schools nationally for its Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results.

It s renowned for excellence in both academic and co-curricular achievements since its establishment in 1995.

SincereStock bought into my very first reits counter HEKTAR at 0.545 (9.00am open price, 23 august 2024). improved revenue, EPS / distribution DPS due to new inclusion of KYS that seems yet to be reflected in price. one of the highest of not the highest DY reits counter. however, I am anticipating capital gain through market price increase due to the unreasonably high DY instead of investing for the long term DY itself. first reits I deemed as undervalue for trade. others seems to be traded at fair value therefore unable to attract my interest so far.

Justmeme I agree but their portfolio of properties are not really attractive anymore. Very old and decreasing tenants. That is why I propose that the company fold up, dispose all the prperties and distribute the capital back to all the share holders.

SincereStock even at 1.9 cts, that is just for half year, full year assume another 1.9 cts, won't hard since they mentioned there is 1 off cost for kys this QR. assuming 3.8 cts for whole year that would still be 3.8 / 0.54 = 7%, a fantastic DY at current market price
