surprise of the large drop today, thought profit drop is widely expected. At least the revenue is still up meaning it is still the growing choice among consumers, although partially due to more discount given. Its level of dividend is hardly seen elsewhere

pillay15, MAS never said it has no money and this was witnessed from its balance sheet. The point is it is burning cash fast because of the structure and huge workforce. If the delisted plan was cancelled, another round of cash call is expected and continuously to be losing money. Do you guys ready to put in more money for a loss making and burdened company? How much its intrinsic value is I think already reflected in the share price thru trading mechanism prior to delisting announcement. after 2 deadly tragedies, still can get back 27 cents I feel is quite ok. And no need to bother so much on future court cases.. This company has been losing money no matter in good or bad time, its current model just doesn't work.

The 26 cents buyer should be the merger related company to make sure the deal will be put through tomorrow. For them buy in at 26 cents is definitely cheaper than 27 cents to be paid on later date

Yea, YTL group of companies have huge hidden value within. Patience will be rewarded. It has been my core holding despite selling them while prices were good, I always came back at later pullback.

what happened today?

The fall is simply the share price overshoot beyond its current potential, especially the hike prior to the share sale announcement. Those public relation made through media just before the sale was to entice new buyer and to give share price a boost for the previous owner to sell at higher price during the negotiation. I recalled that I bought Yilai around half year ago at the price ranging from 0.90-1.05 with net yield around 7.x%. Luckily to sell them 1.30 because it was not longer a high yield stock with not cheap PE (although many still deem it to be high dividend stock).

hungpin, the shares experienced a much higher than average daily volume and the price was pressed down means somebody with huge holding was determine to clear off its holding. A check from Quill's shareholder summary, it did not have many shareholders had such a huge holding. Since those with >5% have to disclose their movement but it did not happen means the sell-off came from the minority. Quill did not have many big holding minority so wasn't difficult to detect the actual seller. I assumed the seller contributed 65-70% of daily volume and minus the seller's reported holding, I made a rough guess when the selloff would stop. And since the price had been pushed down to only 1.00 and the balance to clear was unlikely to make it go down much further, it was lucky to collect at the bottom.

ejtic, this is a low volume counter and it does not have many big shareholders. Just check the daily trade volume since the share started actively traded and sum it up. Forecast the big seller's sell volume and match it back to the shareholding list. it is very easy to find out who was the actual seller and how many share was left to further selling. Once sold out and price in oversold region, share rebound. This is basis. I managed to accumulate all my holding at 1.00, the lowest price, in two days and this is where the simple profit come from.

sheep, who dare to buy if it just fall few cents on monday? There are so much uncertainty on the company now, the confidence gone affect short to long term sales, the prolonged and hefty compensation, lawsuit etc. I foresee huge selling from investors and especially foreigners, they hate uncertainty most.
