You can turn, spin, flip, twist, somersault, dodge, run but you can never hide. Malaysians in that last 10 years have created, seeded and propagated in new Party. Pakatan Rakyat is the people’s creation, ready to enter its teenage years and wipe out all evil since 1981.

#TumbangBN #No2BN
MENURUNKAN HARGA KERETA – ADAKAH KITA MAMPU - PR

1. Seramai 71.9% isi rumah di Malaysia menggunakan kereta.
(c) Tiap-tiap tahun kerajaan BN kutip RM 7.6 bilion setahun.

Ambiga: Four ‘good’ reasons, my foot!
RK Anand
| March 28, 2013

The Bersih chief dismisses the four reasons given by the Star's group editor-in-chief for Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's delay in dissolving Parliament.

KUALA LUMPUR: In a comment piece published on the front-page of the Star today, the MCA-owned daily’s group editor-in-chief Wong Chun Wai stated four reasons for Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s feet-dragging on the dissolution of Parliament.

However, Bersih co-chairperson S Ambiga is not convinced with the four “good” reasons, which were:

* A caretaker government cannot enter into agreements at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima).

* Finishing touches to some projects and programmes.

* Barisan Nasional’s candidates’ list not finalised.

* Impossible at the moment for politicians to campaign freely in Lahad Datu.

Commenting on the first reason cited, Ambiga told FMT that it is not a licence to dig into the public coffers to embark on a spending spree.

“Lima contracts were all foreseeable. If this was an aim, then why lead the public on a merry ride and threaten to dissolve Parliament for more than a year?” she asked.

Ambiga stressed that it is morally wrong to extend the dissolution date on this premise, adding that the move smacked of utter desperation.

“The way they [the incumbent government] are spending suggests that they are not certain of returning to power. And that is the whole point of a caretaker government: they should not make any contracts which the next incoming government would be bound by; you must uphold the status quo.

“It is wrong to rush into contracts when it is very close to the caretaker period,” she added.

As for Wong’s second point, Ambiga argued that putting the final touches on projects and programmes is also something that was foreseeable in the past.

“This once again suggests that they are not confident. It seems that for the first time, there is a confidence crisis [in BN] with regard to retaining Putrajaya.

“However, your nervousness does not justify spending the rakyat’s money so close to the election and for keeping us on hold regarding the election date,” she said.

‘Automatic dissolution is shameful’

On BN still finalising its list of candidates, the Bersih chairperson dismissed this as the weakest possible excuse.

Ambiga said the list has to be finalised before any general election, and since Najib has been toying with the people over the election date for more than a year, BN should have worked on the list a long time ago.

“This is a pathetic excuse for delaying the dissolution of Parliament,” she added.

As for the security in Lahad Datu being used as a reason, Ambiga expressed puzzlement.

“We were previously given the impression that everything was fine and safe… for the election to be held there. This is news to me. It seems like the government is caught in its own web of misinformation… I would like to know the truth about the situation there,” she said.

Commenting on the automatic dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly last night, Ambiga said this is not something to be proud of as it meant that the incumbent government is being booted out of power by the Federal Constitution.

“…unless we amend the Constitution and have fixed dates for elections. Then everybody’s life goes on until the date of election; now everyone’s life is on hold… this is the psychological point and it is shameful,” she added.

Furthermore, Ambiga stated that automatic dissolution is a constitutional safeguard against recalcitrant regimes.

“Let me stress again that there was nothing to be proud of allowing for an automatic dissolution, although it was legal. No self-respecting government would allow that to happen,” she added.

Najib’s delay in dissolving Parliament has led to a litany of speculations, ranging from a lack of confidence to more last-minute plots being hatched against the opposition.

Parliament is scheduled for automatic dissolution on April 27

Bro Bingo and other member, thank you for your sharing a lot of info, video clip and comment about 13th GE. I salute and respect to yours spirit to find this info to convinced some of people mindset which not understandable how worse incumbent government continue to win election.
I'm a person seldom to read and understand in political news. But until now i knew that incumbent government system having a problem e.g. corruption, racism,Lynas issue, monopoly, education and etc. This make me become angry and will vote for opposition.
Until now the parliament still yet dissolve that can depict they are now don't have confident to convince the rakyat. Voting is simple but vote for which party is more important to decide our future country direction.
For me, vote for BN equal to "Corruption" while vote for PKR is equal to "Democracy". You should know which party you should vote for? Now 13th GE election is BN vs Rakyat, not BN vs PKR.
Please use your right power, talent brain, heart, conscience and intuitive knowledge vote for rakyat.

Tsu Koon can redeem himself if he is prepared to take a honest and honourable stand on Wednesday’s Cabinet to demand the total suspension of the May 13 film Tanda Putra or to submit his resignation as Cabinet Minister

I feel very sorry for the Gerakan President and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Tan Sri Dr.Koh Tsu Koon but he has only himself to blame for the avalanche of public odium heaped on him in the last 48 hours when he did the indefensible – defending the private screenings of the May 13 riots film, Tanda Putera.

Tsu Koon claimed that the private screening of the controversial Tanda Putera are allowed because the Cabinet decision to postpone its screening is restricted to public screenings only.

What sycophancy, hypocrisy and sophistry!

No wonder Cabinet Ministers are not the most highly regarded and respected people in Malaysia – and the Najib Cabinet makes history as the Cabinet which beats all previous Cabinets in having the most useless “deadwood”.

Even the former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir and former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin in their recent interviews took turns to scalp the Ministerial “deadwood” in the Najib Cabinet.

Mahathir fully endorsed Daim’s condemnation of the Najib Cabinet as “carrying too much deadwood” with “most are already past their use-by date”, saying caustically: “I agree entirely. Lots of deadwood should be chopped down and thrown away and new trees grown.”

I don’t think a former Prime Minister had ever been so contemptuous and dismissive of the Cabinet of the current Prime Minister which cannot but reflect on the Prime Minister’s quality and leadership.

In justifying the private screening of film Tanda Putra, whose premier had been deferred by the Cabinet because of “inappropriate” scenes in the film and the highly disputatious account of the tragedy of May 13, Tsu Koon has not been able to rebut one simple question which comes to the mind of every Malaysian, is it ok to have private screening of pornographic films?

But it is still possible for Tsu Koon redeem himself and restore some respectability among the Malaysian public.

Tsu Koon still has a last opportunity. He should demand the total suspension of the May 13 film Tanda Putra on Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting or to submit his resignation as Cabinet Minister. Is Tsu Koon capable of such a last honest and honourable stand?

‘Enough proof to reopen Altantuya case’
Anisah Shukry
| March 30, 2013

Recent revelations by businessman Deepak Jaikishan, lawyer Americk Singh Sidhu, and private investigator P Balasubramniam constitute as 'new evidence', says the Bar Council.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Bar Council today established there was sufficient new evidence for the attorney-general to reopen investigations in the 2006 murder of Mongolian translator Altantuya Shaariibuu.

“The revelations by Deepak Jaikishan, the late P Balasubramaniam, and Americk Singh Sidhu raised sufficient concern to warrant further investigations by the authorities,” Bar Council president Christopher Leong said in a statement today.

“Such further investigations may or may not lead to anything new, but we would only know if additional investigations are in fact undertaken,” he added.

Leong was responding to the Attorney-General’s Chambers statement on Wednesday that it would consider reopening investigations into Altantuya’s gruesome murder only if there was new evidence.

Attorney-General G Abdul Gani Patail said this after the Bar Council urged him to reopen the murder case following revelations from the late Balasubramaniam’s lawyer, Americk, at the council’s annual general meeting.

Americk had claimed that senior lawyer Cecil Abraham was responsible for drafting the private investigator’s second statutory declaration (SD) in 2008.

The second SD had reversed all claims made in Balasubramaniam’s first SD, which had implicated Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak in Altantuya’s murder.

“Thus, the issue presently is not whether the AG has the discretion [to reopen investigations], but whether there is sufficient cause for him to do so,” Leong said.

Leong pointed out that businessman Deepak’s reaffirmation to the media that Balasubramaniam’s second SD was written to recant the first SD, as well as his role in the matter, was already considered as new evidence.

Deepak had claimed late last year that Rosmah Mansor, the wife of the prime minister, had requested him to persuade Balasubramaniam to write the second SD.

While Rosmah had not refuted Deepak’s allegation, she wrote in her biography that she played no direct role in Altantuya’s murder.

Question of motive

“Taken at face value, such revelations may speak to the possible motive for the events that led to the demise of Altantuya Shaariibuu,” said Leong.

He stressed that the question of motive had been unsatisfactorily dealt with when two police officers were found guilty by the High Court of murdering Altantuya. The third accused Abdul Razak Baginda, a close associate of Najib, had been acquitted.

“The High Court stated: ‘Whatever his motive was, it is a matter of law that the ‘motive’ although relevant has never been the essential to constitute murder’,” quoted Leong.

But Leong pointed out that motive might be important in cases where there was doubt as to whether a person had the intention to commit a crime, or where there were questions as to whether there might be more people connected with or involved in the crime, and the nature or extent of such connection or involvement.

Let's all hope that YB Karpal Singh wish comes true....& then there's hope for us to bring our beloved Malaysia to great heights and be envied by the world. Hidup Malaysia.

‘Pakatan will take Putrajaya, 8 states’
Athi Shankar
| March 30, 2013

DAP chairman Karpal Singh is confident that Pakatan Rakyat will form the next government after the 13th general election.

GEORGE TOWN: Pakatan Rakyat will wrest control of Putrajaya and capture eight states in the forthcoming 13th general election, predicted a confident DAP supremo Karpal Singh.

Sensing a strong surge in public support, the DAP national chairman said Pakatan was on the right track to capture the federal government with a slight majority.

Besides retaining its current four state governments, he said Pakatan should add Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Perlis and Perak to its list after the polls.

But he cautioned that Malaysians could always kick out Pakatan if they were dissatisfied with its deliverance.

“I think Malaysians can expect a new government after the election. A change of government was long expected in the country anyway.

“In democracy, it’s the people, not political parties, who own the government. They can always vote out Pakatan after five years if we fail to perform,” he told reporters here.

Karpal also called on DAP members to stop speculating on the party candidates and their seats.

He revealed that the four-man committee, established by the party central executive committee (CEC) to make final decisions on candidature, had not met.

The four-man committee consisted of Karpal and his party deputy Tan Kok Wai, secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and his father, Ipoh Timur MP Lim Kit Siang.

On his own constituency, Karpal hopes that the party would allow him to seek re-election in the Bukit Gelugor federal seat for the third time.

He hopes Bukit Gelugor constituents would vote him in to parliament again.

BN is speculated to field a lawyer Teh Beng Yeam from MCA while Parti Cinta Malaysiais is also expected to field a candidate in Bukit Gelugor, which encompasses Seri Delima, Air Itam and Paya Terubong state seats.

Formerly, Karpal was a three-term Bukit Gelugor assemblyman between 1978 and 1986. He was also a five-term Jelutong MP between 1978 and 1995 before losing in the 1999 general election.

It is obvious from the policy pursued so far that the Umno elite have decided to protect their illegitimate luxurious lifestyle at all costs. And that can only be guaranteed by winning in general elections. But they can’t compete with Pakatan Rakyat on good governance and equitable policies that are favoured by the masses, because BN’s political leaders and public institutions are already corrupted to the core.
