Let's come back to the discussion on 'Stock Pick Year 2016 Contest'.
Don't you think that the organisers or promoters should maximize the number of ACE stocks to (say) just 2 common stocks only for each participant, since ACE Stocks are largely speculative in nature. A small surge in prices for these stocks would amount to substantial margins or multiples in term of percentage. Moreover, any improvement for just one (out of four) quarter's bottom line would be eruptively influencing share prices.
If a participant's portfolio comprising only the ACE common stocks, then the chances for him or her be in the top ranking would be quite high.
Why when OTB win it in 2014 and 2015 not many conditions(Warrant or below 10 sen stocks cannot pick)? Perhaps OTB not deserved winner? Or is the competitions real life? Why OTB dare not take part in 2016?
Anyone has the link to see the performance as of end Nov-2015? Will be great to see who's in the Top 20 as we can then auto qualify for 2016... Looks like English Premier League now...
Each participant have to choose for a minimal of 5 stocks or Company Warrant (no Call Warrant, Put warrant or any other Derivative) where the stock price have to more than RM0.10 on 31-Dec-2015 5:00pm
I try to prevent call or put warrant as it will expire before the game end...
for ace market, i think we can't limit it... there is good stock in ace and you need to pick it with yr wisdom...
Summary: -Assume have 100k cash -Buy and Hold Period: 31-Dec-2015 - 31-Dec-2016 -minimal of 5 stocks -no Call Warrant, Put warrant or any other Derivative -stock price have to more than RM0.10 on 31-Dec-2015 5:00pm -cannot invest > 30% of capital on any single stock -have to invest 99% of the cash -0.1% brokerage fee (min RM8) + other misc fee -no margin, or borrowing -dividend, stock split, bonus issue....will be part of our profit -company warrant allowed to pick

Hi Tan KW, i think you can include warrant with condition the expiry date must be at least 1st Jan 2017. This way the warrant will still have valuation comes 31st Dec 2016 for closing MTM. Just my 2cents. Hope it helps. Anyway i'm new here. Pardon me.
Mr Tan, i think your rules are awesome...to all i3investor, ofcourse i believe the rules will not fits to each and everyone as different ppl hv different of style & if keep chaging the t&c, this will never ending of story..lets just follow mr Tan KW rules and regulation to make thing simple...he set the rules and we play the games, alright?
You are responsible to select 3 losers for me. It is your decision to select them. I feel that you have your choice to select anyone, not necessary to select the worst 3 losers. It is your choice, please exercise your right. Thank you. Ooi
Then, I will have to exercise my right and use my own judgement to filter out someone "purposely" loose in the game by selecting some dead co with no valid reason.
I am not a kiasu kaki, I put in a lot of effort to analyse other participant's portfolio if they are better than me. I hope to learn some strategy from them. It is hard work and good initiative to learn from other sifu. In stock market, there is no end to learn new strategy or method from others. I will be out of country for 2 weeks, I will be back on 3/1/2016. If it is in time, I will participate in this competition. If I am late, please allow me 1 or 2 days to select my stock pick. Thank you.
@Collin Soo, you should be in top 20 for year 2015...
I will reserve the seat for the first 20 runner on Year 2015 stock pick, the first 20 runner on year 2015 can submit it eventhought there is more than 50 participants - at most, we will have 70 participants.
Alright! Fully agreed with Koon Bee. Mr. Tan will have the full authority to exercise the rules. It's better that way than having too many thoughts. Good luck all and hope newbie like me can learn something from all the sifus.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....

Please just ignore me if you disagree.
