You hv to separate the occurrence of the Big Bang from the formation of the Sun and the appearance of Earth ... They did not all happen together at the same bloddy time, you know ... But of course, you wud rather be believing what your 'infallible' authors told you, i.e. everything suddenly appeared 6 thousand years ago, right? ...

The Big Bang occurred 13.8 bil years ago, by the majority of estimates ... The Sun only formed 5.6 bil years ago ... While Mother Earth only appeared 4.54 bil years ago ...

Ancestors of humans appeared only 6 mil years ago ... How they really looked like that time wud be anyone's guess ...

While modern humans, i.e. homo sapiens, only appeared on this planet at best only about 200,000 years ago ...

DreamSorcerer,Did I tell you in a nick of second the earth suddenly appeared.The 6 thousands years refer to mankind's existence from Adam'beginning until now.
It took sixth creative days to create everything on earth from beginning until Eve was created.
In Genesis 1:2,5,'Now the earth proved to be formless and waste and there was darkness upon the surface of the watery deep and God's active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the water.
5. And God began calling the light Day but the darkness he called Night.And there came to be evening and there came to be morning,a first
day'.
To us one creative day is 7 thousands years and Jehovah took 6 creatve days which is 42,000 years to complete the creation of everything on earth.
In Genesis 1:1,'In (the) beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
So it was not stated how long God took to create the heavens and angels but it was created before the earth and humans.
Redarding your billion of years it is only guesswork of humans without anyone to support it.

DreamSoucerer,I will believe in the instructions of the inspired bible in winning God's approval rather than listening to the nonsense of human's calculation and other rubbish.In rev 22:11 it mentions,'Let the one unrighteous continue in unrighteousness,and let the fifthy one continue in his filth;but let the righteous one continue in righteousness,and let the holy one continue in holiness.
In rev 22:14,15 Happy are those who wash their robes so that they may have the authority to go to the trees of life and they may gain entrance into the city through its gates.15.'Outside are the dogs and those who practice spiritism and those who are sexually immoral and the murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and
practices lying.
We are on different level of frequencies of thinking,you base on human thinking and I base on the written bible supported by billions of humans in different era.

DreamSorcerer,when Eve came to life it was the end of the sixth creative day and the beginning of the seventh creative day which Jehovah God called it a Sabbath Day,a day of rest in Genesis 2:3.
Since Adam's time to now is 6000+ years but the age gap between Adam and Eve is unknown,we cannot tell from Eve to when(?) is 6000years.
But the bible mentions 1000 years(no works of creation) for human to reach perfection and plus the 6000years of human existence(no work of creation)=7000years make up of the 7th creative day.
For 6 creative days=6x7000years=42,000 years.

From the genealogy of Jesus christ to king David to Adam and from Jesus Christ to Sept 1974,it is roughly about 6000 years.But from Eve to judgement day is 6000years plus the 1000years of mankind restoration of perfection=7000years.
Let assume the age difference between Adam and Eve be x years.
Eve's birth is the beginning of 7th creative day and therefore to Sept 1974 is 6000-x years.
Hence 1974 + x = 6000years= 20xx=judgement year.
If x=50 years,then judgement year=1974+50=2024
If x=44 years,then judgement year=1974+44=2018.
So all this calculation will be only accurate if 1974 is correctly calculated and the age differrence is known.
Jesus said regarding the hour of judgement nobody would know except the the Father,Jehovah.
So in harmony with what Jesus had said,it was true to calculate the judgement day because 1)we didn't know the age different between Adam and Eve. 2)whether the year 1974 is 100% accurate because it might had some overlapping in months or days as we did not know the birthdays of evryone.
Fortunately Jesus gave us the signs of the 'last days' and prophesies to know the imminence of the judgement day through its fulfilment of these signs and prophesies.Also he said from the budding of the flowers or trees you know summer is near.
