now actually is to wait for QR result.. but due to BNM cut rates, therefore investors suspect the profit in banking line will drop, that's why all the banks share drop like shit..

Posted by money game > 2019-08-02 09:52 | Report Abuse

Hong Leong from RM20.06 highest in May drop till 17.68... Maybank from RM9.10 till RM8.67, PBB from RM23.86 till RM21.76... and CIMB from RM5.45 till now RM5.06

Expect two more times for rate cut in future buy at rm4.5

Posted by Fundamentalist > 2019-08-02 10:07 | Report Abuse

It’s hard to catch the bottom, if going for mid to long term, does it make sense to collect now?

Posted by Fundamentalist > 2019-08-02 10:09 | Report Abuse

Klci is hovering around 1630 support level, or should start collecting after it breaks and nose dive further?

Posted by money game > 2019-08-02 10:21 | Report Abuse

fundamentalist, if for mid or long term, I will said any price below RM5.20 is a good buy.. CIMB support level is RM5.00 - RM5.05, now actually is testing the support level, if break will go till RM4.80.. around 25 cents from now..

Posted by Fundamentalist > 2019-08-02 10:41 | Report Abuse

Money game, excellent advise. I am holding some, ready to collect more while waiting for a better entry point.

Posted by money game > 2019-08-02 11:29 | Report Abuse

fundamentalist, for mid term, say less than 2 years, it is not so difficult for CIMB to go back to RM6.00.. that's why I think the price now is a good buy... of cos the price may still further drop due to other factors like US-China trade wall etc.. but once all these factors gone, the price will be up back,,, the fundamental for CIMB is still very strong..

Posted by Fundamentalist > 2019-08-02 15:00 | Report Abuse

Money game, agreed. ^_^

600 counters down, i advise not to enter yet, to enter now is like catching knife, see for a trend. Last year during market rout, cimb went to down until 4.5-4.8++. No matter how good fundamental you cannot fight bigger trend. Hold steady, u can always enter during up climb.

Posted by money game > 2019-08-02 15:29 | Report Abuse

mobidick.. what is the best price do you think should enter?

Technically the pricing now is correct, but try see the bigger market. Banking sector is down as well as klci. So i am looking for volatility to ease down actually.

Posted by money game > 2019-08-02 15:56 | Report Abuse

basically you are right.. and in fact there is no right no wrong too... if you think this is the lowest and buy, then price may drop much lower... but if you think price can go lower and wait, but the price may go up and you miss the boat... this is why so many ikan bilis get caught... in share market, only the big players will manipulate the price... they are the one who decide the price up or down, ignoring the fundamental and technical... therefore many ikan bilis kena burn bcos we cant even know what is the price will go to... but for mid term or long term players, it wont consider much what is the lowest, cos you never know what is the lowest, so just buy and keep till the TP that you want to sell..

CIMB shuts HK investment banking operations

KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Group Holdings Bhd has closed its Hong Kong investment banking (IB) business, citing existing collaboration with its Hong Kong partner in the competitive North Asian market.

Jefferi Hashim, CEO of CIMB Investment Bank said yesterday that with its pan-Asian collaboration with China Galaxy International (CGI), it has recalibrated its investment banking business. The bank said existing clients in Hong Kong will continue to be supported through the collaboration with CGI.

The bank, Malaysia’s second largest by assets, was reported to have let go of 10 investment bankers based in Hong Kong due to strong competition, leaving only one to oversee the transition, capital markets publication IFR reported.

In 2017, CIMB sold a 50% equity interest in its international brokerage business to China Galaxy Securities 601881.SS, which owns CGI, creating a cash equities joint venture.

The joint venture includes institutional and retail brokerage, equities research and associated securities businesses in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, India, South Korea, UK and the United States. — Reuters

Hong Kong protesters pelt police station

By AAP
5:31pm Aug 4, 2019
A police station in Hong Kong has become the target of protesters' anger as rallies in two different parts of the city converged into one, with participants gearing up for another night of protracted demonstrations.
Following a rally in the Tseung Kwan O area, some protesters used what appeared to be a long, homemade slingshot to hurl rocks, bricks and other objects at a police station on Sunday night.
They shattered multiple glass windows, authorities said. Demonstrators elsewhere also began to barricade and block roads.
