Several months ago Drb/proton/govt. did mention agreement would be signed in 2H2017, in this case July. A mou is just a necessary step.

Iwcity is a private company owns by tan Sri Lim. Drb is a glc and a bumi company. What's the chance the deal will be cancelled?

If you read carefully on the deal: Geely only take over major Lotus (51%) shares. Proton only give them 49%. Why not give them another 2 %... you'd know why. The same losers are staying in the board. Proton loss Lotus ... which's a sad things for us, but prize for Geely. If tomorrow limit up, it just matter of time before real investors cool down and think over this. Can Proton really benefit from Geely & turn around.

Meaning Drb sold off lotus entirely? Lotus just start to turn around recently and has a very good brand. I wonder who own Etika automobile?

Geely buying 51% of Lotus & remaining 49% will be acquired by Etika Automobile, which is owned by Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary.

Dear Calvin, the deal will see Proton selling entire Lotus stake to Geely and Etika. Proton will no longer benefit from Lotus.
Proton will benefit from Geely's investment in Proton itself.
