Since minority shareholders are mostly unhappy with the offer price of 80 sen (which is already very generously above the pre-announcement market price), the privatisation offer may likely fail to get approval from minority shareholders and likely to be called off.

Rather than called off, it's more likely they will make counter proposal. I am guessing the price they are willing to sell is at around 1.00 - 1.50.

Plus, i am sure LTAT also knew 80 cent is too cheap. They probably want to test the water 1st and see how Boustead responded. Again, these are all just my 2cent opinion.

maybe the propsal brought upfront as they knew qtr rpt will back to profit

if that so, market will panic buy more and price would be beyond 80c
