The consequences of the following members by involving in BJ Corp :-

Calvin Tan :- previously recommended too heavily on this counter until being treated as Sing con or lousy investor and now need to promote other stocks in order to make good his reputation !

Leno :- Bo Chow Ccccccc and then Bo Jeep Cccccc too often and making wrong call too many times until need to hide to nowhere in order not to be walloped by I3 investor members !!
I also suspect he got badly burned in BJ Corp and hiding from Ah Long or bank's collectors now !!

Datuk :- Sometimes be a Smart-tuk by calling buy and sometimes Dumb-tuk by calling sell BJ Corp until most i3 investor members can't trust his calls anymore !!

conclusion :- BJ Corp really a Conman's counter No.1 in Bursa Malaysia !! Whoever touched it or mentioned it will SURELY go Holland !! Me included ! Trapped in this pirate ship and being forced to check this forum from time to time and HOPE for new development to jump off this Con King's pirate ship !!!!!!!

Correct, bjland loss is mainly due to goodwill impairment, but it will reflect in bjcrop upcoming result due to the fact that it is its 63% subsidiary, bjcrop could potential need to write off -RM 265m. Even though impairment goodwill is non cash effect, but it will affect in profit and loss, EPS, balance sheet, NTA. Lucky, bjcrop also in previous Q3 record non cash massive revalue surplus of its associate bjauto that mark it into market value. Therefore, for full year result, bjcrop still can manage record positive eps.

I notice that VT now hold almost 23% + directly of BJCorp, 24% + indirectly , total direct & indirect holding = 48% BJC
Does that mean if VT purchase 2% more and exceed 50% shareholding, he must make mandatory offer to minority at a xx price ?

True, bjland have many undervalue landbank in its book, but only will be reflected if it willing to revalue them. It can and on management discretion to appoint valuer to revalue its landbank, pay valuation fee, record valuation surplus and deferred tax (tax only payable if these land is develop or dispose).

However, in current report, the main root cause is due to the non-cash impairment of goodwill relating to the gaming cash generating units (CGUs) amounting to RM380.73 million, resulting from the excess of these CGUs carrying values over their recoverable amounts. Bear in mind, as 63% subsidiary of Bjcorp, these goodwill is also record in Bjcrop balance sheet, therefore, if impairment is done, it need to write off from its balance sheet, affecting profit and loss account, NTA.

Management didn't highlight what trigger such massive impairment in goodwill, perhaps, Could it be link to possible Bjtoto loss Philippine toto business, which its operating license is lapse in coming Sept !!??

What worrying in Bjcrop balance sheet is that there is big amount of goodwill in its book, which if need to write off for whatsoever reason, it will severely affect bjcrop current book value.
