I still buy MAS ticket for local traveling till this end of year. I bought several already. Local flyers may keep flying using MAS, but for international they have more choices and options. For sure MAS could not avoid another round massive loss, but would reduce with impacted ticket promotions both local and international offers.

MAS local flyer might opt for a change AA, while AA flyer would continue stay with AA. (Loss in customer)

MAS international flyer now would think twice before flying with MAS or would chose for other alternative (Loss in customer)

MAS already bleeding badly, and with this incident again is like rubbing salt to wound. Instead of reducing expenses, it seems there would be HUGE increase in miscellaneous expenses.

Even the insurance is cover. I expect Mas will lose around 20% passengers in this few years because of the incident. The revenue and profit will be significantly reduced. Don't forget china is a big market and Mas will be very difficult to build up theirs brand in china.

this Mas cant die but cant profit also. Losing money for years already still have to face this kind of news. Even the price is low now but it seems hardly to rebound in the future. Business, reputation all gone, within Malaysia and outside Malaysia now.

The reputation of MAS has not gone, as they have not been proven to be at fault for anything, as of yet. All first world national airlines, were also massively in debt and bailed out by there respective governments for decades, so this is nothing new. There is no evidence to suggest airlines lose 20% of passengers following a disaster.However, if you are a private investor looking to make a fortune in the short term, maybe there are alternative stocks, that will give you a better return in the short term. Long term maybe a different story......

i know some airlines not doing well also, but they not meant to be perform badly because of that, not all airlines doing that bad. If looking for a company to invest, at least it some some positive profit, otherwise it hardly convince investor to buy it.
Like always, incidents happen, upper level will find someone to bare the responsibility, just see hows the outcome will be.=) But i guess Malaysia will try their best to deny everything no matter how. Airplane incidence is always a serious issue, crash, hijack or whatever, people talking everywhere, Mas will get shoot because of that happen, its happened under its airline after all. Hmm...
