The value indeed is there but it has been trapped for the past 10 years or longer. Capital gains from its assets and investment need to be realised into cash before the cycle turns. The potential of PM Corp comes mainly from passive unrealised gain on investment or property we do not know when they will realise.
Profit from its normal operation is minimal. Worse, typical of all companies in MUI, they do not have a formal dividend payout policy. The RM90m cash has been kept by the company for ages and as shareholder of PM Corp, you may be worried that it may one day be used to help other ailing companies within MUI via intercompany loan.

Talk so much on unlocking assets just like kseng ? someone mentioned RM6 , another 7, 10,17 ,20 or higher mentioned in the nanyang papers ? so what happen , the shares stuck at RM 5.45-5.50 ? No change for long long time ? If were to unlock assets , co may has to fork out millions in quit rents if without any plan of development ? Lim As has a good point there. At the last AGM held in Tg Puteri Resort the Directors were grilled by the same questions you mentioned. KSeng could be a value trap. Shareholders must voice out and give it to them.
Anyway, PM Corp has been unlocking asset for Cash. We told them to dispose Johan & George Kent which they did. They also disposed BEA (HK) Bank of East Asia for a huge 40% profit! 5 Million shares at HK 29.00 per lot.
They also disposed Woodland Factory in SPORE for RM38.5 Millions (Money Already in NFI A/c. Spore. Now they have announced cash distribution.

whilst the notion of herd mentality is right, you must also look at the circumstances then. between 1972-1986, Ku Li's political star were shining bright, with many considering him sole heir to UMNO upon Mahathir's demise or retirement from politics! MUI had a lot going for them, getting whatever permit and license that they want. Things started to go sour when Ku Li challenged Mahathir and lost for the UMNO presidency. it was downhill for MUI too all the way after that.
As for going for valuation, there may be a value (asset perhaps) play here. but if looking at the overall climate, still a long way for KKP's phoenix to rise again!

MUI Property own the Bandar Springhill land between Seremban & Port Dickson. Also own Heritage Hotel USA & pockets of lands in Seremban & KL & Ulu Kelang. It also derives income from Oil Palm fruit bunches.
In current fundamental status, MUI Property looks better than MUI Berhad because MUI Berhad still has high debts.

I beg to differ. MUI is a gonna case. its founder, KHOO, has lost his focus n interest. Even he has lost his wife in UK. Since 2000 many MD, ED n CEO such as Chris Boyd, Anthony Yap, Edward Tan etc have come and gone. In fact MUI have been stripping and selling its assets since 2000. It sold even its flagship office building, MUI Plaza to Hap Seng, at a low price and land at Lrg bkt Ceylon for a song in 2001. At one time its MING COURT Hotel was closed down and put up for sale with its adjoining land formerly called the Si RUSA INN.
Smart move. Dont waste bullets. MUI is worse than a snail. Risk it on Sumatec. More potential n excitement if not too late. If possible get by end next week
