batman666 iron shirt where you see BAT target price by JPM RM 21?
Hi, article was posted here 2--3weeks ago...anyway i No intention to repost it bcos I dont want people to Buy on Tuesday....another pair of Chopstick, another mouth to feed
The sale of alcoholic beverages is banned at all premises during the current "total lockdown" period as it is not an essential item, said Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Rosol Wahid.
However, he said cigarettes - while also not an essential good - can still be sold to avoid "problems" with addicts.
This is after confusion arose on whether hypermarkets and grocers...
Those IB who push down last few days is into our radar now,its just too small those funds for us and we will make Known to them to hardly see the light soon
Bank Negara rate is now 1.75%---with MCO, most Co. can stay 25% above waterline. With Lockdown 90% are Below WaterLine ( you can feel it so chaotic in SOP minister bcos they are trying to save a Drowning Man )
June ----Bank Negara will announce Next Rate. My Bet is 1.50%. It will pull Down to 1.0% if LockDown continues. Bank FD rate will be 1.75---2.0. BAT Dividend will Stay above 7%( annual-- 2021 )
There is unlikely interest rate will go down, inflation is on the way. Even if lock down continues, interest rate will more likely stay put and slight uptick starting next year maybe 2nd half.
1.5% is the lowest for the foreseeable future (even though i don't think it will happen), going to 1% is impossible. Foreign money will run faster which the our government don't want to happen as US will likely see sentiment of interest rate rising pressure. Double whammy, almost like when 1mdb imploded time, so again unlikely in my opinion.
the sundry shop that i go usually still sells black market cigs, but another contact says that their side wine and cig smuggling business getting slow....
First of All there is hardly any foreign Funds in Malaysia. 15 of JPMorgan FF has no BAT. By comparsion Malaysia Bank Rate is atleast 200 basis point Above EU and USA. So Bond Holders has No where to Go. Of Course Afghanistan offer 15% Bank Rate if you want to deal with Taliban
I am not too worried about the decreasing EPS and FCF because the above result has not taken E-Cigarette sales in future into consideration.
With the Company's plan to cut cost (plan to move some services to Pakistan for Shared Services) and business expansion, I have no worry about this counter.
These was how it works lately…firstly the local IB sold down their portfolio at recent high and buy back at manageable low,so stage 1 was sell high buy back low, stage 2 is to push up again and after collecting the dividend on x date, sell down again that will be stage 2,therefore they c made twice..no big deals
direct translation from si fu Williamh......If you have a good performance, you chase me, and you can get dividends in both directions. Selling at a high bottom is enough to buy. Don't stop to get dividends. Data games will piss you off, and you will go to the sky from now on.
I am parking my money in BAT in view of the future plan of BAT to expand into E-Cigarette upon granting of licence to operate E-Cigarette business after the resumption of Parliament.
There is a solid potential fundamental in near future because it is the trend for E-Cigarette now.
The research house said that the management also shared that there were progressive discussions with Malaysian authorities to set regulations over nicotine vape products. Some of the items highlighted by industry players include the need to establish a list of banned ingredients and dosage of ingredients in vape liquids, standard of devices alongside requirement for players to obtain approvals around the sale of nicotine vape products.
The framework is still subject to finalisation, nevertheless it reckoned there was a chance that the government may introduce regulations on nicotine vape products as early as the second half of the year.
Discussions with regulators for the legalisation of nicotine-based vapour products are in the final stages, we understand. Details are scant at the moment, but BAT hopes to launch its own vapour product by end-2021.
Part of my principles, bankers who made sell or buy call would normally make call in favour of their own interests because I believe in share market there is no free lunch. In other words, HL IB would like to collect cheap tickets. My two cents.
I ignore the Sell Call of TP RM11.75 set by HL Investment Bank.
This is part of my principles and I will continue to hold tightly BAT at this juncture.
However, I do respect your stand. You can use HL Investment Bank's advice as the basis of your decision in investment.
@Lanmum, for example, IBs punya TP for TNB is always way above traded price
And when you look at the fundamentals, and current economic climate...
When things are normal, all people go to work, residentials consumption go down, commercials and industrials consumption go back up
Now FMCO, many people WFH, the situation terbalik
Some IBs got vested interest (they want u to buy to push up price) Also, some IB analysts are armchair analysts really
I'd rather buy BAT with generous dividend payout, and little to no capital expenditure requirement. At least I'm assured that the dividend is sustainable
No smoking? People will always smoke wan la!
Stay at home, bad economy, lagi mau rokok lebih! XD
Haha. Yea. Somke more at home. Like TGUAN target is very pleasant & comfortable. This one very stress. Appreciate you guys opinions. Thanks for sharing Pinky and auditorandconsultant
I will just wait patiently. I bought some BAT shares on Tuesday at RM14.32. You had just acquired right.
Although the price of RM14 above but below RM15 is not the best entry price, I am willing to park some of my $$$ here to earn Dividends and to wait for opportunities.
Top Management of BAT will not do nothing and I believe RM14 should be fair enough for a good start. I am planning to hold BAT and I believe BAT will become a multibagger soon, i.e. RM30.

After the FMCO and this pandemic, I believe that Government will do something to safeguard the interest of business related to Cigarette and Liquor.
Look! Almost one quarter of Tax was derived from the total tax collected in year 2020.
Do you think government will allow BAT (cash cow) to suffer?
I am very very positive and I believe some positive movements will be implemented by the Government soon.
BAT - Stable Blue Chips + Sustainable and High Dividends + Potential Growth and Development which will then drive exponential spike in share price very soon (in my humble opinion 1-3 years)
June will be a fantastic month for BAT-----None of the Road Stalls can Sell legal Or illegal Cigs during One Month Lock Down. Almost 35--40% of local Brand Or illegal Brand are Sold thru Road Side Stall
Keeping finger crossed that BAT's 2Q results will Fly out 1 July ( Very Good Results always Out very Fast )
