VT is no longer relevant in Corporate Malaysia. One of the last dying dinosaurs in Bursa. No more followers in most of his companies. Once the status of the man his looked down his whole empire fades away slowly but surely unless he make amends and start to deliver on promises and get back into the limelight quickly. Failing which, he will fade away for sure compared to so many upcoming young entrepreneurs, cheers.
Pariah tan is a very good person, full of mercy, always perform charities, donates money to orphan homes, old folk homes, NGOs ..... no doubt that he needs to ensure a recurrent source of income to sustain his wonderful acts, ..... can get easy money from the weak minority shareholders ..... is a very smart person ......
Recently, I have time to study others counter, found that's the market price is up to company or major stakeholders to display regardless the trading volume or the enthusiasm of minority. Am i right?
There's no interest in Berjaya stable of companies. Investors and traders just don't look at their businesses. They don't find the major shareholder relevant. He's not doing anything beneficial to spur the share prices to increase. VT don't bring any value to the shareholders. He is a pale comparison to all the dynamic CEOs running the newer listing in Bursa having a bull run in their share prices. This guy is like a Dinosaur in the new tech driven world.
BKAWAN just got 92.8% acceptance on their offer to take CCM private. They don't intend to keep the listing. BJLand is so cheap with about 13% outstanding and still no offer. No class. I suppose he wants the balance of shares at dirt cheap price.
Further to our announcement dated 23 June 2020, the Board of Directors of Berjaya Land Berhad (“BLand” or “Company”) wishes to announce that Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad has, vide its letter dated 4 September 2020, granted BLand a further extension of time of 6 months from 23 September 2020 until 22 March 2021 to comply with the approved public shareholding spread of 20% (“20% PSS”).
Currently, the public shareholding spread of BLand stood at 13.255%, a shortfall of about 6.745%. The Company has yet to formulate any rectification plan to address the shortfall in the 20% PSS but will explore all possible options to meet the 20% PSS. This Announcement is dated 7 September 2020.
Counting down the day whether Bursa will give another 6 months extension or not?

as has been shown earlier, Bursa will simply amaze us with more 'approved' delay, denying minorities rights like the deal offered to 'buddy?' valuing BLand @ 0.38 exchanged into BCorp shares at 0.38/0.30 ratio Jan 2019 OR the deal offered to VT& 'buddy?' valuing BLand @ 0.70 exchanged into BCorp shares, warrants and cash Dec 2015.
VT must show us he can take BJLand private after taking so many years to buy up close to 87% of the PUC. Failing which, it will be a big embarrassment to Corporate Malaysia to see a reputable tycoon not able to raise enough cash to buy up the remaining 13% of the outstanding shares. It will be disgraceful. So, showtime is about to begin soon. Hopefully, Bursa don't continue to give special treatment to VT or else it will raise suspicion on their INTEGRITY.
Getting more exciting? Lena Tan was a successful Hedge Fund Banker in UK before joining BJGroup...should make a nice team with Group CEO Jalil...now the first target of the day's BJLand after privatization of Caring Pharmacy by 7Eleven?
KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Corp Bhd has entered into a partnership a London-based merchant banking and investment company to set up New World Capital Advisors Sdn Bhd (NWCA Malaysia).
The NWCA Malaysia team will be led Lena Tan, a veteran deal maker and investor with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry in Asia, Europe and the US.
Lena Tan is also the chairman of BCorp's subsidiaries, 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd and Singer Malaysia.
"I am excited to lead and build the NWCA business in Malaysia and I am thrilled to advise New World Group’s portfolio companies across conventional markets as well as the Islamic economy in Malaysia," Lena Tan said in a statement today.
We refer to our previous announcements in relation to the public shareholding spread of Berjaya Land Berhad (“BLand” or “Company”).
The Board of Directors of BLand wishes to announce that the public shareholding spread of the Company as at 23 February 2021 stood at 13.26%, representing a shortfall of about 6.74%.
Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad has, vide its letter dated 4 September 2020, granted BLand a further extension of time of 6 months from 23 September 2020 until 22 March 2021 to comply with the approved public shareholding spread of 20% (“20% PSS”). In view of the financial impact that resulted from the Covid-19 pandemic preventive measures, the Company needs to re-evaluate the alternatives to address the shortfall in the 20% PSS.
This Announcement is dated 24 February 2021.
Still do not have latest news on PSS when next monday is 22th March. Will make another complaint to SC and Bursa with CC to Lydia this weekend.
Sslee, could you kindly insist on an exchange into BCorp shares at 0.38/0.30 ratio be one of the option where minority shareholders can choose? Thanks.
I think this 22-3-2021 nothing will happen because most of the bland businesses are under shutdown and partial lockdown due to pandemic.
The best strategy for bland now is start selling some land (since land has not fallen much despite pandemic) in order to pare down borrowing and release value and profit.
