Privatize bjland is it the only options, I doubt. Bjland in eye of many still fine, but more the time dragging, more dangerous to small investors as one of the forumer said here.

BJLand does not own any part of the Great Mall of China. GMOC is 51:49 owned by BJCorp and VT.

Lol...don't spread false news as it involves CBT and Uncle Tan may sue ur pants off! Btw if true...why did BJLand made provisions in Millions earlier on impairment cost for GMOC? By right Uncle Tan should pay for the GMOC impairment costs personally and not BJLand right?

Refer pg. 59 of BJland annual report below:

Ignissmia.
GMOC is 50:50 owned by BjLand and VT's private company.
Therefore, the impairment provision is not full of the RM500 mil ++, as 50% was private owned by VT.

GMOC case is quite confused, received half payment and outstanding payment no news heard. Later, heard the mall want to demolish for meet with China municipal development. So, what going on?

In term of GMOC disposal, it had been disposed at Nov-2016, only payment mode split into two, first payment was paid at Nov-16 and second payment on Nov-17.
Further, both SkyOcean Holdings and Zhou are guarantors for the performance of the obligations by Beijing SkyOcean following the sale of the Great Mall.
This means the chances of recovery of the receivable is very secured.

In the former Bj Land AGM, the director reckoned that the negotiation on repayment from SkyOcean is positive; maybe the repayment could be in few installment instead of one off payment.

Lol...since Uncle Tan owns half of GMOC no wonder he's working hard to recover the RM600 million owed by Beijing SkyOcean asap!...no wonder he went to Macau (which is next door to Hong Kong/China) 2 weeks ago to negotiate the terms of repayment with Zhou?

OceanSky, thanks for pointing out my mistake. Many years have passed since I went thru the reports n I did not double check before posting my comment. However GMOC is a 51% subsidiary of BJLand.

Bjland will be privatized soon... about 15% not owned by bjcorp only... no meaning as a public company already. Correct me if I were wrong :)

bjland, a major shareholder of bjtoto :)

KUALA LUMPUR: AllianceDBS Research is positive on the numbers forecast operators (NFOs) sector in view of its improve prospects couple with attractive yields.

The research house has maintained its “buy” recommendation for Magnum Bhd with an unchanged target price of RM2.65.

“We also have a buy recommendation on and Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd (BToto) with a higher target price of RM2.65,” AllianceDBS said.

The research house said potential amendments of existing legislations would further deter illegal NFOs.

“In view of the overlaps and complications of these acts, we believe that the authorities could streamline and standardise these acts with the imposition of more punitive penalties to further curb illegal NFO operations,” it said.

The research house also noted that both Magnum and BToto, have reported decent financial results in their respective latest quarterly reporting.

“More importantly, both NFOs have reported improvements in their gaming revenue per outlet per draw in their latest quarterly results.

“We believe this is mainly attributable to stricter enforcement by authorities to clamp down on illegal NFOs, which was accelerated since 2HFY18,” AllianceDBS said.

The research house believed that there were plenty of room for the NFOs to grow their earnings with the authorities intensifying their efforts to curb illegal NFO activities.

“Besides the improving earnings prospects, we observe that both listed NFOs offer attractive sustainable yields of >6%.

“As such, investors could enjoy the attractive yields offered by these players while riding on this investment theme,” AllianceDBS said.

Berjaya Land's RM1.64b Okinawa resort
CORPORATE NEWS
Thursday, 17 Jan 2019 1:19 PM MYT

In November 2016, tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan announced Berjaya Land Bhd's plan to build a Four Seasons resort on the 100-acre site in Okinawa.
In November 2016, tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan announced Berjaya Land Bhd's plan to build a Four Seasons resort on the 100-acre site in Okinawa.

He made the announcement soon ahead of the opening of the Four Seasons Hotel and Hotel Residences in Kyoto which was built for US$380mil, which includes a land cost of US$50mil.

Now, two years on, Berjaya Land announced on Thursday it was developing its Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Okinawa.

Projected total development cost is US$400mil (RM1.64bil) and the gross development value estimated at US$1bil (RM4.10bil). It will comprise about 30 acres of the project development land area, with 120 hotel rooms, 120 residences and 40 villas.

These projects are being undertaken as Berjaya Land exits from its Vietnam-based international five-star hotel business in a move to monetise yet another asset in the country.

It is selling its entire 75% stake in its joint-venture TPC Nghi Tam Village Ltd (TPC Village) for 1.24 trillion Vietnam dong (RM222.18mil).

Tan had also recently revealed Berjaya Group was close to concluding a deal to sell its Four Seasons Hotel and Hotel Residences Kyoto (Four Seasons Kyoto) in Japan for a profit of between US$350mil and US$400mil.

The funds will come in handy for Tan who plans to float his hotel business on the Singapore Exchange will unlock the value of the properties owned by BLand.

Tan has said BLand, besides being significantly undervalued by the market, the company’s shares were hardly ever traded on Bursa Malaysia.

BLand had issues in complying with Bursa Malaysia’s listing requirement of having at least 25% public shareholding spread. Hence, it would make sense to delist BLand from the local stock exchange.

The steady business of the hotel industry makes it an attractive proposition for investors who look at the business more favourably, given the dynamics of the industry.

The industry has seen a large inflow of private capital coming from investors like high-net-worth individuals and family offices moving away from hedge funds to private equity in search of higher returns.

ivan9511 is correct. Long term, we know the roadmap for this company, but long time ago, what are you doing? Short term , what can you do? Your projects mainly take long term, builds hotels & residential property or assets base. Lastly, nothing given, just another's assets and debts, impairment loan for another big projects. But shares volumes continues growing.

I think bjland should consider disposing bjtoto as it holds more than 40% of bjtoto to become a shariah compliant stock in hotels, property development and management and car distribution in Malaysia and overseas.

Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd
(April 3, RM2.52)
Maintain buy with a target price (TP) of RM2.65: We maintain our “buy” recommendation on Berjaya Sports Toto (BToto) with a higher TP of RM2.65, based on the dividend discount model (DDM). The extension of its lease deal for lottery equipment with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office should address its near-term earnings risks. We are also positive that the group will continue to benefit from the more stringent enforcement by the authorities in curbing the activities of illegal numbers forecast operators (NFOs). We believe the stock’s attractive dividend yield of more than 6% will continue to support its share price.

Our TP is higher than consensus as we have adopted a more aggressive valuation basis. We believe that the market has underappreciated the intensified efforts by the authority to curb the illegal NFO activities. Furthermore, its attractive dividend yields of higher than 6% will continue to support its share price.

Potential catalysts. Higher-than-expected ticket sales due to: i) intensified efforts by the authorities to curb the activities of illegal NFOs; ii) successful launch of new game variants; and iii) stronger-than-expected recovery in consumer sentiment.

We maintain our “buy” recommendation for the group with a higher DDM-based TP of RM2.65 upon: 1) making earnings revisions; and 2) rolling our value base to FY20.

We raise our FY20/21 earnings forecasts by 2%-4% mainly on higher gaming revenue growth. — AllianceDBS Research, April 3
