i do not think Petronm , PetDag related stocks will shoot up because they got the obligation to provide more subsidies to the present gov manifesto to reduce the fuel price to a liter at 1.50 . The reason being they are part of gov GLC....They are formed to serve the rakyat not their pockets.

new gov has assured that petrol price will be fixed no matter its price is up or down ; that's mean the new gov may subsidize the price if the price is up , so we welcome the positive move taken by the new gov . Further to that the abolishment of GST shall see rakyat's saving of nearly 25B yearly will create better purchasing power which will boost the economy to a greater largesse . The splinter effect to country economy will be fantastic.

Subsidy does not affect producers. Example, hengyuan sells at market price to Shell. Shell sells at government price to consumers. Difference in profit margin, government pays to Shell. That's how subsidy works.

The government is going to reintroduce subsidy to oil in the country.

The oil price will drop lower than today.

Lower oil price means higher demand for oil.

The volume of oil used will increase.

The profit margins of the oil retailers like Petdag are fixed by the APM (automatic pricing mechanism).

Higher volume x fixed profit margin per unit = Higher profits.

Moreover, the profits will be stable and not so volatile.
