in fact, this is a good chance to collect for those who still had faith on palm oil. losses on this quarter is expected, since there's heavy flood in q1. foresee next quarter oil palm sector will recover to normal, unless there's palm tree dying from the disaster (unlikely).

@70sen it is cheap..
If you buy, you have to buy and forget and do not monitor it on daily basis... otherwise have to wait and monitor the monthly production volume to make your decision.

Yesterday an IB downgraded it from buy TP 1.40 to Neutral TP 0.80

when things turn better, I expect IB will upgrade... :)

Uptrending Roger and million thanks. I have the faith on Palm oil business and the CPO price is depress now but strongly believe will be back 1 day. Buy some and monitor the production vol.

Dutaland sold their 11,579.31 ha oil palm plantation in Sabah to Boustead Plantation for RM750 million.

Jtiasa has 70,000 ha of oil palm plantation in Sarawak. How much is this worth?

Do not think this quarter result will be good. Oil Palm production output is about the same as corresponding period, but CPO price dropped by about 16% as compare to corresponding period.

Mgmt is not doing a good job in managing oil palm production output. Output rate is 10% below industrial average despite having 91% of planted trees are at prime mature age.

Sr executives should have pay cut.

Should be not that bad if this is really happened. If compared the palm oil & log output (Q1 & Q2 ), Q2(Apr-Jun) output improved a lot (of course it is depend on CPO price).

The impairment is for the "price dropped of 140,000,000 units RSawit share" that purchased on year 2016 at RM0.50 per share. On 30/6/18, the share price of RSawit is RM0.285, so JTiasa need to impair this paper loss of the RSawit share purchased.
