such sensible comment from you. anyone who follow airasia closely would have knew the result already. i guess people should learn how to read financial statement, understand the business and its direction, looking at the big pictures than just merely focus on the bottom line. The actual QR results announcement today will just make visibility clearer. In addition, other information in the QR notes in respect of increased in operating cost and operating expenses, associates losses etc. will assist in informed investing. EBITDA for the Consolidated Group was up 119% to RM691 million. Non-airline EBITDA was down 33% YoY to RM29 million as BigPay and AirAsia.com saw larger EBITDA losses as BigPay expands user base and AirAsia.com ramps up operations. Nonetheless, Teleport reported EBITDA of RM62 million in 3Q2019, up 15% YoY. All Asean airline entities of the company reported a positive EBITDA.

Good profit, but cash position and current liabilities are going to be an issue for cash position forward. Thats why min fares are also going up. AA is having inflation issues, but its still the cheapest around.

Look through the QR, say something.

The effect of selling aircrafts were said to be -400m, don't know why it became so bad now (its more like -1.6b every year now).

Looking at the numbers, load factors etc, one may wonder how can the company turns profitable unless they have 90% load factor etc.

Yeah, hk, macau was affected but it will continue to be affected.

Yeah, I agree it takes long time to recover. Especially now MAS, Malindo are going price competition too.

My advice is, Airasia should focus on profitability rather than market domination. You can't kill a company unless they give up themselves.

Last year Airasia suddenly increased capacity by 17%, in one quarter. They are biting the bullet now, at the same time make the shareholders suffer too.

P.S. I really can't understand the new accounting.

this already happen since few quarters ago, and keep on repeating

if invest in AIRASIA, need to be prepare for this

other than fuel price votality, accounting items is another complicated things

Current liabilities outweigh current assets (i.e. cash and anything that can be pajak-ed or lao sai into cash) - its a warning sign. Non-current ratios look alright.

AirAsia Group Bhd slipped into the red in the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2019 (3QFY19) with a net loss of RM67.46 million versus a hefty net profit of RM804.03 million a year ago due mainly to the fair value loss on derivatives amounting to RM237.7 million plus RM206.3 million of unrealized losses on foreign exchange, net off against gain on disposal of property, plant and equipment of RM92.1 million.
For the nine-month period, the carrier’s net profit was down sharply to RM99.46 million from RM2.21 billion a year ago, while revenue was higher at RM8.75 billion from RM7.67 billion.

Aiyo...this quarter cash flow gan jeong edi but as expected as special dividend payout...AA should lowering their add plane already to minimize cash flow problem....bear in mind of MFRS16 only...if you look for EBITDA then okay, but after EBITDA then surely will lari one because of depreciation of right of use assets...ntg that you can do because it is standard unless you dont really care...big pay, foreign loss and derivatives loss not so as expected...expected drop below 1.65...hehe
