@weechin53: Don't know why it is sliding. Is it because major shareholders are selling? Technically, it seems to be in a downtrend. It may look "cheap, reasonable" but there's the possibility it might go lower. I think it's better to buy later after this downtrend is checked. Doesn't really matter if it will be a few sen more expensive - if it's going up, then we will still gain.
last month i bought 0525,last week i sold 0525;i just rugi 83.76. so luck! next week everybody can buy at 040 after 7/8 & 8/8 when investors today failed to pick up!
While we wait for things to be better for Alam, there are other oil & gas counters that seem to be more promising. Scomi Marine and Scomi Group, for instance, look better right now.
I mean the acquisition price. Alam is trading at historical lowest price at rm0.495 -rm0.505 ranges. If you see the graph since its inception, you can confirm what i said here.
I follow GE way of investing. Only invest in the number one or number two industry leader; provided the balance sheet position is healthy and the industry is in growing trend. That's the Jack Welch (GE) of business investment style.
Obvioulsy, Alam is the industry leader in that business. That's why the institutional player like great eastern insurance, public mutual funds are heavyly. Buy Alam!
Taji, you definately doesn't sound like a newbie in stock market. Why you have to hide in the pretext of a college student.Your comment more like a seasoned investor & we can learn a few things from it.
That's what i learnt in the text book. If you don't believe, go to get the book with the title "winning". The context and the content are sounded what i write here.
Of course, I'm a top student in Taylor in 2011. I 'm eyeing to study in Cambridge by early next year.
My father used to tell me if you can't form a world class think in your teenager period, very like you will be ended with the average people in the society.
He gave me rm500K to improve my knowledge and practical experience in the invetsing arena!
After 7 months of experience in investment, my return is bare 6% which is extremely poor. Bear in mind, this is the bull cycle, the index is trended up!
What happend if the index is trending down during this period?
My lecturer is telling me in order to beat the market, we must be distance from the mentality of crowd.
Hi Tajimasunrise appreciate for your info,do you mind to share which PB Mutual fund that hold ALAM? Actually it quick potential and worth to be invest too.
Hi tajimasunrise.. nice knowing you... I think worth buying alam rite now.. price super cheap compared yo other giant contender like bumi armada.. Its a matter of time.. Good luck to us here..
tajimasunrise: you have to assess whether what your lecturer said practical or not practical.
Share with you how my peer assess my lecturers when I was at my uni time.
My Entrepreneur subject lecturer is driving Proton Wira to my campus to give lecturer. Most of my peer skips the class, you know why? just because he's driving Proton Wira. Reason is, if he is so good in the subject, then he won't be driving Proton Wira
My Econ subject, the Dean of the Faculty, he is driving BMW 7 series at that time. Everyone rush to join the class, know why ? we think he is practical & proven to be practical & what he said might be true.
So what you lecturer drive to your campus that you trust him so much?
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
