Tenaga is not Serbia. long term play is the game here. They are venturing into RE with possibly better earnings. Energy in Malaysia is regulated hence the profit margin is controlled. can go either way. no explosive earning but safe dividend.

(1) wallaweh, why so expensive 9.6 ringek. I need 9ringek when coming Tenaga? u better crash some more la. who wants lousy weak holders when u can get loyal ones?

(2)this 9.6 is lowest in a long time..5 years. very minimum donwside ady can go wallop gao2.. :P

there is no such thing as cheap price. Malaysia KLSE is as middle income trap style market. Even Warren Buffett come play KLSE confirm he die straight. He just lucky to be at US market which is long growth market.

KUALA LUMPUR (July 14): Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is reported to have made the largest strides in renewable energy (RE) among Malaysian electricity producers on the back of the government-controlled TNB’s aggressive green ambitions, according to TA Securities Holdings Bhd today.

In a report today, TA Securities analyst Kylie Chan Sze Zan wrote that time is, nevertheless, on the side of fossil-fuel-based power producers, as it is still early days for RE proliferation.

"Therefore, we opine that TNB’s proactive RE goals and swift execution to-date are commendable,” Chan said.


Malaysian power producers include Malakoff Corp Bhd and YTL Power International Bhd.

Chan said Malakoff has also kickstarted efforts to diversify into RE via various smallish projects.

On YTL Power, she said TA Securities believes "the group needs to ramp up efforts by finally venturing into the RE space”.

"We maintain 'overweight' on the power & utilities (P&U) sector as P&U companies remain attractive before and after the Covid-19 pandemic,” Chan said.

She said the P&U sector’s fixed earnings offer refuge from lingering Covid-19-related headwinds.

"As such, this all-weather play offers both peace-of-mind and earnings growth,” she said.

Chan said TA Securities has "buy" calls on TNB, Malakoff and YTL Power shares.

According to her, TA Securities' target price (TP) for TNB stood at RM11.50 while TPs for Malakoff and YTL Power were 97 sen and 85 sen respectively.

At Bursa Malaysia's 12:30pm break today, TNB’s share price settled up one sen or 0.1% at RM9.67 while Malakoff rose 0.5 sen or 0.61% to 82 sen.

YTL Power’s share price settled unchanged at 69 sen.

Paul, the risks of short dated warrants in this current market environment are greatly magnified, no matter how the individual company's prospects look.

There is no point swimming against the tide, as in most cases the investor will get washed away. If you believe in the long term prospects of a company then perhaps take advantage of weakened prices to build up an investment portfolio of quality stocks. Less margins but generally a safer bet. Consider warrants in a far more buoyant market.

Just my thoughts :)

KUALA LUMPUR: Cooling Energy Supply Sdn Bhd (CESSB) has commenced the operation and maintenance of the district cooling facility at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on July 1, 2021.

CESSB is a joint-venture (JV) between Tenaga Nasional Bhd's (TNB) wholly-owned subsidiary, TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd (TNEC), and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd's (MAHB) 100 per cent-owned subsidiary, Airport Ventures Sdn Bhd.

In a statement today, TNB said under the 20-year Concession Agreement signed by both parties, CESSB will operate, maintain, and upgrade the existing district cooling cogeneration plant, one of Malaysia’s largest district cooling plants in Malaysia.

"The JV company will also sell, distribute, and supply cooling energy and electricity to customers in KLIA and surrounding facilities using reliable, modern and efficient technology," it said.

CESSB will modernise the gas-powered facility to fully electric, resulting in the KLIA plant producing cooling energy with higher efficiency, thus significantly reducing KLIA's operating costs by over RM50 million per annum.


TNEC chairman Lim Fu Yen said the collaboration between TNB and MAHB via CESSB accentuates TNB’s aspiration to be the leading provider of sustainable energy solutions in Malaysia and internationally.

"We are confident that this collaboration will significantly and positively contribute to the great customer experience that all KLIA passengers can enjoy,” he added.

TNEC is a specialist in sustainable energy system engineering, and a market leader in the business of development, operation, and maintenance of district cooling systems and large-scale solar plants with a proven track record in Malaysia and abroad.

Apart from operating and maintaining six district cooling plants in Malaysia, the company has also completed the development of a few other local district cooling plants, two district cooling plants in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, and three large-scale solar plants in Malaysia. - Bernama






BUYING TENAGA FOR its: 1) the biggest utilities giant supplying electricity in the county
2) the company is getting more and more into renewable energy play.
3) would be the largest renewable energy player in Malaysia.
4) good and growing dividend pay (excluding the dividend given during pandemic period)
5) stable blue chip stock that is resillende.
6) invested heavily in the renewable energy sector in other country such as the UK (solar & wind), Turkey ( gas, wind, hydro), Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan and India (coal, gas & solar plants).

Bottom forming on monthly chart. But still under the same downward trend. Rm9 is still a possibility. Except for its monopoly in Malaysia, earnings had been relatively poor for sometime. Probably had to do with high dividends and tax. Price of electricity is also set by gov. Hence i believe margin is tight.
